No fine for shoving a ref to the ground during the Super Bowl

Bottom line, neither of us were down there on the field with Boger and Cam. Nor were the idiotic sports analysts.

No point on arguing with you, because clearly you already have a flawed judgement made up in your mind.

It's not flawed. We just disagree. These are opinions after all considering we weren't on the field.

Well, you were the first to go off on a diatribe about the matter.

You should know the ways of the huddle by now. People will call out your posts, quick change the subject again.

Nice edit. :)

Yeah, my post was basically a lame "umad" argument, so I changed it.

I just don't see what this has to do with Cam or the NFL though. It's the ref that decided not to throw the flag on Williams. Throw a flag, get a bunch of replays shown, NFL will notice and issue a fine. I don't know what happened on the field between them, the same way I don't know exactly what happened between Cam and Boger. So I just might be talking out of my ass then.

If the Williams incident had occured in any game but the superbowl I have no doubt there would have been a fine and possible ejections. The NFL doesn't want the bad publicity in one of the biggest sporting events on the planet.

If they don't address it then it is forgotten.

Maybe the NFL just doesn't notice these things without the flags and replays.

We might be giving them too much credit.

Washington Infantry----both known for overspending

Williams deserved to be fined, as did Newton.

So why wasn't he? Unknown. Florio thinks it's face saving by the league since no flags were thrown when there should have been. My best guess would be the ref in question said "no big deal" or some such.

Not a big concern to me, either way.

Since when was this a grey area? A push directly to the chest of an official, hard enough to knock him back a couple of steps, and no flag.

Cam's flag was apparently for what he said. But you can't tell me that players don't mouth off to officials every week with no flags. I agree with most, that it was not called simply because it was the Super Bowl.

How in the hell and in what way is what Cam did worse? Seriously...

I'm not one of these Cam apologists who make excuses for him left and right, I actually think the flag/penalty he received was reasonable... but jeeze, all he did was jump up and accidentally bump a ref and talk a little bit of smack because of the no-call late hits he was receiving (many QBs do this same exact thing, minus the bumping which seemed accidental). Williams jumped up and blatantly shoved a ref with enough force to send him stumbling back. Putting your hands on a ref in any malicious manner should be an automatic ejection no if, ands, or buts, regardless if it's the Super Bowl or the Toilet Bowl. Much less fuging shoving a ref.

No, I'm not. Because it was a mistake, it wasn't rude and inappropriate?

I don't know what your definitions of the words "disrespectful" and "unsportsmanlike" are, but I'm not calling Cam the devil. These were the exact words used by the ref that flagged him either way.

Dude you are way off base. One guy tapped a Ref with his chest, the other pushed a ref to the ground and was still coming at him.
