I'm pretty firmly behind the panthers staying here for 15 more years, but how does this guarantee that? Can they legally not move now, or is it just much less likely now that they are getting money.

I'm sure with tax dollars being used, that there will be something legal and binding to make sure they stay.

The Panthers could buy out the contract or someone like Los Angeles could buy it out if they wanted the team bad enough. This does make it less likely and certainly it would not happen anytime soon but could happen before 15 years.

This is great news! People that were against this were all for handing out trillions of dollars to worthless welfare recipients or other corrupt entitlements. The City of Charlotte only spent around $80 million on preparing the land when the stadium was originally built. Paying $145 million to keep the team here and improve the stadium and fan experience is nothing. Especially when you compare it to the deals Minnesota and Indy had to agree to to keep their teams. The people of Minnesota are having to fork over $400 million to keep the Vikings in town. The tax payers and city will more than make their money back on this investment on the Panthers. Well done!
