The Panthers will not be adding any top notch or even adequate starters this year via free agency. Don't look for it, it is not going to happen.

Why? Because they can't. There is no money. Zero. None. Bupkus.

We will be extremely lucky to clear the cap with restructuring our current players like Beason and out right cutting players like Gamble . In other words we are selling, not buying.

We have no money.

Our only hope is that Gettleman can pull off the best draft in Panthers history and get 3 or 4 solid starters out of it.

gettleman is going to have to be trimming a lot to get under the cap and make room for rookies to be signed. it's not unreasonable to think if we can do that then we should be able to clear enough to sign a free agent or two or three. more than that it will probably be necessary because some that will have to be trimmed are starters.

it won't be much, but gettleman is going to have to replace some overpaid starters and fill some holes with cheaper alternatives. i just hope he's got as good of an eye for finding hidden gems as most believe he does.

I've looked at some of the cap numbers and I've made threads about it. There are guys we can cut or restructure to create the space but none of that will happen until march 1-15th.
