Our WRs....other than 89... Meh

I'd like to grab another beast TE. Everyone here is on this WR kick....you get a big fast TE to add with Olsen you can rip apart any defense

Food for thought

It would be nice when we use the 2TE formation to actually have 2 TE that can make a play. I am warming to this idea. The problem comes with where do we find this guy? Can you actually get an impact TE in the later rounds, or as a realitively cheap FA?

The thought is intrguing I will admit.

I kept thinking Barnidge could become that TE, but our offense was pretty good with Shockey. Smitty is remarkable, but he has already slowed. All those fights he gets into with the CB is, in my opinion, a veteran tactic to get into the head of a young CB. I think he got the idea when Deangelo Hall was in ATL.

Smitty is past due to hit the wall, and where will we be then? I think their demands about WR are fair--when was the last time we drafted or brought in a good WR in free agency? It has been 10 years or more.

Do we think we can address the OL woes with a free agent or two? If so, maybe TE and WR are areas we address.

I do not see a WR worth #14, but I think there will be some very good ones at the end of the first round and into the second. I would love Patton or Hunter in the second round. However, I also think the pickings are good in the second round for a CB.

In my opinion, the first round will be beef, either on the defensive side of the ball or the offensive. I am looking Lane Johnson or a Sheldon Richardson/Jonathan Hankins..\

Since I see value at DT, CB, and WR in the second round, I would not mind seeing a trade where we drop to the bottom of the first and add a second rounder.

Saw DHB for 3 years at Maryland. The kid is legit. Fast like you wouldn't believe, but he also runs sharp routes and makes impossible catches. He made Chris Turner look halfway decent, which says a lot. His big problem out of the gate was catching NFL velocity balls, and ended up doing a lot of chest catching his rookie year which also hurt him. And he may have had an attitude problem when he was drafted, but his first two years in Oakland effectively humbled him, and now I know he's a guy who stays after practice for extra ball work.

He just never should have been drafted 7th overall. Oakland expected him to jump in at the number 1 role, face first string CBs with marginal QB talent and succeed. Was doomed from the start.

Would be great if he would end up here. After watching him at the pro level for a few years now, I don't think he's a viable number 1. But he would be a dynamite complement to a possession receiver, stretching the field. Hope he's willing to take a pay cut. At this point he'd be a fool to think anyone will give him that kind of money.

One. Hundred. Thirty. Six. Million. Over. The. Cap. Why. Can't. You. See. This. Fact?

Dude you are one of my favorite posters on this board, but literally every year we see the same ohknowz-wedont-havzda-moniez and every year cap space is cleared and we progress. So im not worried about creating cap space. Its gonna happen one way or the other.
