Brentson Buckner named DL Coach for Cardinals

Mr. Scot

Buckner's best moment with us came in the playoff game against Dallas in 2003.

For those who remember the game, you probably remember that Kris Jenkins was timing the Cowboys snap count to near perfection. The jump he was getting on the ball was insane. I recall turning to a buddy I was watching the game with (a Cowboy fan, sadly for him) and saying "they have to have sniffed something out."

Indeed they did, and it was Buckner who saw it.

Quincy Carter was quarterbacking the Cowboys at the time, and Buckner noticed that Carter had a "tell" on the snap count. Right before the ball was set to be snapped, Carter would wiggle his fingers. The snap always came on the very next signal.

Buckner informed the rest of the line, and Big Kid used it impeccably.

The kind of player that notices things like that is usually the kind that akes a good coach.

For whatever you may think of his personality, I have a feeling Buckner will do pretty well at this job.
