Flacco's agent: He should be the highest paid QB

The Ravens made their own bed with this one. Flacco wanted to do a new deal this past offseason and it was the Ravens who wanted to wait and see how the season played out. Well, they won the SB and Flacco played like a baller in the postseason. They could've probably had him for top 10 money, but now they may be looking at making him the highest paid player in the league. They gambled and lost.

No your getting that wrong. They put a deal out to him this past off season and he chose not to sign it and see where everything was at the end the season. He gambled and he won.

The bottom line is the ravens gambled and lost.(kind of). Joe flacco is what we all wanted Jake to be. A leader of the offense and a game manager with a tendency to hit a big play at the right time. Now that joe has won the Super Bowl and Super Bowl mvp(which should have gone to either jones or boldin) they are gonna have to cough up some extra coin. Flacco is not a top 5 QB but is more than likely to command such a price tag. The ravens have no leverage and can't afford to let him walk. The contract will be large. The last question will be how far is joe or the ravens willing to go to get the best deal? Should be interesting.

Just means Cam deserves even more when time comes

cam will be the highest paid player in the league when he signs his second contract. This is not new.

It also has nothing to do with the contract flacco will get.

It also won't have anything to with our win loss record.

If you want a franchise qb with cam's ability, you have to pay for it.

They low balled him. They only wanted to resign him at below market value. I don't really consider declining a below market offer to be gambling. Not being willing to offer your guy market value is the gamble.

Flacco put his money where his mouth was, very rare to see in the NFL.

He said that he was elite, he bet everything on him showing it this year. Good for him.

I wouldn't be surprised if you don't see more teams leaning toward not paying these guys as much in the future, and trying to build around a decent QB. Total shift in thinking, but if you can't field a team because the QB is hamstringing you, it's an issue.

The Seahawks have a shot for 3 years to do something really big, and have a low income high quality QB on the roster.

Gambling to not come back to the team that drafted you and end up somewhere not in the playoffs every year is gambling. It's also gambling because if he didn't win at Denver or even make it to the superbowl he would get much less then he deserved. That's a risk he took it. He won big
