Tyler Vagyler's Mock Draft v2.0

Stephen Hill was never projected to go in the top 15 once.

After the combine he was always expected to be a late first-early second.

You couldn't tell from some of the people here.

Also last year you had better talent at the top of the WR board. Justin Blackmon and Michael Floyd would push Patterson down a bit and we still have the Combine before position rankings are set.

and he was hurt as well, with Mark Sanchez as a QB.put him in this offense and Murphy nor Edwards sees the field at all.

Dumb excuse because Michael Floyd had what at Qb............???? That's right garbage. And played with Fitz and had 45 rec. And Justin Blackmon had Gabbert and put up 64 rec. So stop the sorry QB excuse.

And the way Rivera dog house is Hill would have been in it with the drops not knowing how to run routes and lining up in the wrong place. So you would be wrong there as well.

What's even more stupid on your part is you would have been bragging on us spending a 1st round pick on a 3rd wr. Who cares if he took out Murphy and Edwards???? For a 1st round pick he better be taken Lafell off the Field. God I'm glad you're not our GM.

Floyd wouldn't have been drafted as high in a stronger WR class honestly.

lol now he has to compete with people when hes supposed to be this star no 2 wr..lol hes decent but not GREAT.

every star no 2 wr i looked up outperformed b.lafell in 2012. he only caught 57 percent of passes in 2012 not a 92%.

he was targeted 76 times caught 44 passes.....

lafell has a good yards per catch but other than that dude is a no 3 wr and his best a no 2. and he is definitely not a no.1 that the panthers need as a deep threat.

moss only played 2 years of cb and came out to dominate........the trick is to find someone like that in the draft.......i bet you wouldnt have thought ty hilton could start over lafell but he has way better numbers.

Wasn't he also the number 1 option? Which Lafell was 3-4 depending on the play.

http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcsouth/post/_/id/43772/best-hands-in-the-nfc-south-5

Although Tampa Bay’s Vincent Jackson went deep into the season before dropping his first pass, Atlanta’s Harry Douglas had the NFC South’s best hands in 2012. At least if you go by the numbers.

Douglas finished with a division-high 97.4 catch percentage (receptions divided by receptions plus drops), according to ESPN Stats & Information. Douglas made 38 catches and had only one drop. Douglas was targeted 56 times.

Jackson and Atlanta’s Roddy White were targeted far more often than Douglas and they finished just behind him in catch percentage. White, who was targeted 138 time, finished with a 96.8 catch percentage and Jackson (141 targets) finished at 96 percent.

Here’s a look at the catch percentage for the division’s other receivers:

Brandon LaFell, Panthers, 95.7

umm reggie wayne(100rec 5tds 1,355yds)

and who's fault is that lafell is the 3rd option??? lol....... HIS

he lets a tight end out do him.......omg stop it man.

i can understand why brady has to go to tight ends so much because he just has welker, a slot wr at best....olsen should be the 3rd to 4th option.

No it's the offense. When you have a TE like Olsen and run a read option offense the second WR doesn't get a lot of targets and chances.

Look at the Stats for the 2nd WR in San Fran, Seattle, and Washington. Then talk to me.

Not to mention he missed 2 games.

misleading stats you posted....

and i just want to get your opinion on the offense needs.....if lafell is this star wr that you claim he is what do the panthers need to draft on offense???

Yes misleading because they don't agree with your opinion.

Never said he was a star but we don't need 2 star WR to be a good offense. see : 2011 and the end of 2012 panther season.

We need to get consistant play on the Oline and a OC/ Play Caller with his head out of his ass.

And I don't think we need to draft OLine unless we plan on cutting Gross. This year Crop of FA OG are very good and Deep. I hope we look their before drafting another young guard and having to deal with his up's and downs like we just did this season.

lol all better.....randy is old dude and i can even argue vernon is the no wr 1 and crabtree is the no 2

because vernon dont run like a te...he runs a 4.3 or something lol

but i wont do that and my point still stands.

tate/rice and s.moss/p.garcon(hurt for 6 games) all had better numbers.or more tds or more yards. they were not lights out better but still better.

the only number lafell has that compares well is the yards per catch.

and non of those dude are consider star no 2 wr...lol

so imo panthers need a wr in the 1st or 2nd.

yeah the offense was good because of cam......even owens help took mcnabb, who was better than newton at that point in his career, to the superbowl.

all pro tom took his game to the next level with randy moss lol brady won without a star wr but you have to consider spygate and they had a stout defense...and won most on last sec field goals.

what would dalton be without green lol

star wr help you out a whole bunch.....

panthers have the 27th ranked oline on pff. lol

Just stop dude you're being defiant to the point of stupidity.

Seahawks--- Moss is the number 1 and Tate is number 2. Tate numbers were 46 rec. 688 yards and 7 td (1 being that crap that shouldn't have counted due to the replacement refs). Not very different from Lafell.

49ers---- Carbtree is the number 1 and even if you want to use that Vernon argument (which doesn't work becauseI can just call Olsen the 2nd wr then) Lafell still had comparable stats. And he dominates every other WR on the roster. Beside Mannigham And Lafell numbers are better then his.

Redskins---I can't even tell who is the number 1-2 wr all their numbers are comparable to Lafell and you would have to add all the TE numbers together to equal Olsen.

So none of these teams had 2nd wr stars but all of them were in the playoffs. Maybe you should look and see what they did to make there offense so good.

Clue --- Good Oline----- Good Running Game------Good play caller.

    • Some of you who are not sold on Canales are insane. His main purpose was to turn around Bryce Young’s career and he did that. Of all of the teams in the top 10 of the NFL draft, we were the team that was consistently showing the most fight week in and week out. Our players never quit on the season. The offense which he is responsible for took a huge step forward compared to last year, despite the lack of skill talent  that we have. It was our defense that was a mess. That’s one of my critiques on Canales. He should’ve gotten rid of Evero and hired his own DC that shares the same vision. But as a whole, I can’t see how people are not pleased with what Canales did with this team. I’d give him an 9/10
    • One of the first thoughts after the game yesterday was that JT was going to jump all over it. He's been more favorable about BY from the beginning, and so yesterday must've felt like Christmas.
    • Maybe, but they were always going to be an impossible team to accurately mocked right now. They have an absurd amount of cap room, what they need right now will not be what they need come draft day.  They can make multiple big splash signings and even make trades for players who need new contracts and their teams don't want to give it to them. OT and WR might be their two biggest needs right now, but it wouldn't be unreasonable to think they could go into the draft needing neither of them.  I think a LT will be their top FA priority, also think they're going to make a big offer to Higgins, and I could see them being a team in the running to trade for someone like DK Metcalf as they need a WR like him and they have the cap space to give him a big new contract.
