Tyler Vagyler's Mock Draft v2.0

His stats aren't up there with the elite but he also sharing the ball with another potential 1st rounder, Justin Hunter.

If you've watched Patterson, you know how good he really is. He's like Barry Sanders playing WR. So hard for the defender to bring down because he's so quick and shifty. There are a couple things he could work on but he is top 10 talent for sure. Definitely has the highest ceiling of any WR in this draft. Playmaker.

Oh please, PLEASE stop acting like players with huge upsides and one year of starting experience aren't drafted in the top 15-top 20 really often now a days.

And I'm not just talking about Cam.

Let me do this slow.

Name-----Me-------- a --------"WR"-------who-------was------drafted ------in ------the-------top ------15-----with-------those-------stats-------and ------1 year------of-------division 1-------college football---experiance?

When I watch patterson. I see a guy only running 3 routes which tells me he doesn't know all the routes to be a #1 or #2 wr his 1st year. Lets the ball hit his body to much (meaning he has to work on his hands). And has half as many rushes (25) as he does Rec. (44). What is he a Scat Back Darren Sproles???

Now he has a lot of talent. But so did Stephen Hill last year (4.2 speed---6'4---freak athlete) still very raw wr. And just like Hill it will take a few years before we see results. Not good for a top 15 pick.

Thank you for making my point.

You don't seem to have one.

You're like the poster that used to constantly make their point "When has Hurney ever drafted a QB in the early rounds?" Just because something hasn't happened or hasn't happened recently isn't necessarily a good predictor of if it will happen or not.

Either Patterson has impressed scouts or he hasn't. His college experience isn't going to be a deal breaker if they think he could be a stud.

Here we go it's this simple

It hasn't happened but Patterson is a freak athlete and he's going to be drafted high just based on potential alone

Is it really that hard to understand?

So this is the new excuse "just because it hasn't happen doesn't mean it won't be a good thing". How about maybe it hasn't happen in the many years the NFL draft has been around because it isn't a smart move. But in stead of looking at it that way you choose to be so glossy eyed over the wr position. That you will risk a high draft pick on a person who won't start from day 1.

So was Stephen Hill last year. Let's look at his stats 21 rec. 252 yards and 3 TD. Great stats when you include the fact he didn't know how to run all the routes, had suspect hands, and lined up in the wrong place. Sound like somebody? At least the Jets didn't spend a high 1 round pick (like most teams in the history of the draft) on such a raw WR prospect. They got him in the 2nd round.

By itching for an fight, you're ignoring basic tenets of logic there, killer.

I'm fairly sure it has happened, but I don't really feel like searching just for you to come up with some other reason that a particular example doesn't count just so you can hold on to this argument that, for reasons unknown, is particularly dear to you.

I think Patterson's a good player, but it is harder to say he is due to crappy QB play and a short amount of time playing. HOWEVER, his shorter playing time does not automatically discount his talent. Obviously Smith was worth a top 15 pick, even though no one took him with one. If the talent's there, someone will take a flyer even though the playing time is not. There are plenty of instances where teams have done that.

Can I say for certain the talent's there? Of course not. No one can. But saying that you are certain no one can/will/should take Patterson with a top 15 pick based off the fact that he only has one season of decent numbers is just silly.

Feel free to continue to blast off at the mouth and be a shining example of the Dunning–Kruger effect in full force.

Basic logic is fact. If you show me what I ask for then I have no reason to dispute your claim. Add in that I'm only asking for 1 to 2 example from a 30 to 40 years sample size. Don't be condescending because you don't feel like doing the work.

And if Steve Smith is your example. Then I would have no problem hell I would applaud them using a 3rd round pick on Patterson.

There is a lot of talent there but also a lot of ? to risk such a high pick on him. I would rather go with (and Skye will be all over me for saying) the safer more experience and highly productive Quinton Patton if we had to have a WR. And I still wait to the 2nd round to take him.

Stephen Hill was never projected to go in the top 15 once.

After the combine he was always expected to be a late first-early second.

Lafell had 44 catches for 677 yards and 4 TDs in 14 games, while the bust Stephen Hill had a 21 252 3 stat line in 11 games.

Lafell also had to compete with 89, Olsen, Murphy, and the RB's for touches. Not to mention when he was thrown the ball he had a 92% rec. Rate. Ranking him in the top half of the league in the hands department. Hill should have been the Jets number 1 target considering Keller and Holmes were hurt most of the year.

and he was hurt as well, with Mark Sanchez as a QB.put him in this offense and Murphy nor Edwards sees the field at all.
