Met Coach RR @ Super Bowl in NOLA

Vegas Heel

Was walking up Canal St. when Rivera walks out in front of me. Was really nice and looked to be doing some shopping. He said that Chud was bound to get HC somewhere soon and that is how the biz goes...I agreed. He said he thinks we are good at OC. I asked him about a #2 for Steve and he said "Brandon is really coming along" which I read to believe that they will not look to add anyone else this off season to supplant him.

Thought I would drop a quick update before I fly out from Super Bowl.

they're not looking for another #2 WR anyone could have told you that, we need a new #1 not a #2

Lafell should be our #3...not good enough to be a #2 IMO, maybe to sub in certain sets but not consistentley; in Carolina we have low standards for WRs. RR, can't be trusted though, he said we were good at DT and then released McClain and singed another DT.

Yea right .

You got me at Lafell is really coming along

They were trying to sign Jacoby Jones last year at this time saying the same thing. LeFell is just OK but compare the number of catches to other very good number 2 wrs and you see he is just meh

I dont see the reason for the hate on Lafell... the dude can ball, and he made clutch catches for us for the most part [yea i know, the kc game...] and he can run. Maybe not #1 material but hes definitely a good #2. Whats really a tragedy is the benching of Gettis and Joe in reciever sets.

Just cuz they're not looking for a #2 doesn't mean they're not looking for a potential future replacement at #1

This is a very good point. Of course, it depends on how the question was asked. I think a second year player is "coming along", however. I want to see my fourth year players there already.

I am not sure that we have brought along players like Gettis, Adams, and Pilares, In shape or not, I would have played Gettis at the end of the season. the only film we have on him is with Clausen.

Even if Smitty is fine, I do not like having a 5"9" WR at #1. Imagine how good he would be in the slot? Lafell is a good #3 WR, but he is not a #2 to me because Smitty is still doubled a lot. We need a true threat at #1/2.

This draft will have players like Patton and Hunter in the second round (possibly). Both future #1 WRs. Just sayin/

I see too many times when he couldbt catch the ball. Either tip up or seemed like he's not putting enough effort in trying to catch one bc looked like he was scared to take a hit.

Three years already and he look to be like a third option. If that's all he have been able to do in a highly passing offense with Cam throwing him the ball and playing along Smitty and Olsen to give him one on one opportunity, I'm not sure if he's the answer.

He like to go CASPER in too many games.

bonus points for running into Ron and not giving in to the urge to punch him in the face.

Dude was an NFL linebacker. He may be up there in age, but I'm pretty sure he would wipe the floor with 95 percent of the people on this board.
