Countdown to Free Agency

Mr. Scot

Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating a re-structure, just pointing out that trading or cutting him will do us no good for the work we have to do on the cap for the upcoming March.

My gut feel is he is gone post June 1st. It would be too costly to re-structure him long term and I'm sure Jon still wants to play in the middle somewhere. We could let him go in March and declare him as one of our June 1 cuts (yes, you can do this with 2 players per year), but that is just a courtesy to the player as they still count against the cap as if they are still on your roster until June 1 rolls around.

If we release Jon, it's almost guaranteed Falcons will sign him.

Gross being restructured and Gamble leaving are two common things that have and will continue to be mentioned.

It's hard to know what's gonna happen to Double Trouble. Maybe nothing, hell maybe they're both gone. I dunno.

Anderson could be expendable

Ron Edwards is actually under contract another season so we may clear space with him.

D'wan is a UFA I'd like to see come back (I think we all would)

Godfrey's contract is absurd

Bottom line: it will be f*cking interesting to see what Gettleman does

I am doubting Gross is cut--restructured. Beason? I would gamble on his long term health and restructure him so i can trade him in 2014. He cannot be traded now (Hurney is ass). Gamble is done, DWill is a June 1 cut-

Look for Gettlemen to find a veteran G and a veteran DT in free agency..just my guess.

There is no need for intrigue here.

Gettleman is fugged under the cap due to Hurney's gross incompitence.

He'll do what he can, make some painful June 1 cuts and then sign a couple leftovers off the FA scrap heep.

Don't judge the new GM's roster moves until he's freed the Panthers and himslef of Marty Hurney's ignorance.
