Why the Panthers Do Not Draft A WR Early

I like to go off facts and the Facts are that I look at the Depth chart of the WR, CB, DT. And feel better about the WR's over the other 2 position.

So by facts you mean your own opinion.

2. Captain doesn't matter really?? Name a CB who had better numbers on this roster last year. Don't worry I'll wait...............

It's not a opinion that Dwan edwards is a UFA.

It's not a opinion That Captain is a FA.

It's not a opinion that Ron Edwards and Chris Gamble are the most likely Cap cuts for a team over the Cap.

Josh Norman had more tackles.

Captian had more deflections (9) and interceptions(2) but I mean if we're going by pick sixes here Darius Butler go.

Captian was repeatedly bullied and penalized this season but w/e Captian makes a huge diffrence in your mind I guess that's ~fact~

And for what it's worth I'm not even saying YEAH LET'S IGNORE THESE POSITIONS WE NEED HELP AT but hey WR is a huge need too we can't just rely on Smith forever (because outside the last two seasons he's only had one season where he's started all 16 games, plus he'll be 34 and obviously slowing down)

The Free Agent pool for CB and DT are pretty deep and could bring in some serviceable players for a decent price.

I really wouldn't mind seeing Glenn Dorsey in a 4-3.

Could people on here please stop using Cam to make a point about a WR.

2 different Position 1st of all can not be compare for their impact on a team. Scouts are often wrong on QB going both ways. Example Clausen was the most pro ready. Gabbert was pro ready. They don't make as many mistakes on WR.

Cam was a National Championship winning QB who carried his team in his "1" year of big time college football.

Patterson did not carrie his team to anything. He only played because the other guys got hurt. And he doesn't run but 2-3 routes and has a lot of work to be done on his hands. He did more running out the back field then Joe adams. He had half as many rushes as he had rec.

Cam broke records for TD,- passing% and TD to TO ratio his 1 year.

Patterson stats are (in his 1 year of Big time college football) 46 rec. 778 yards 5td.

When was the last WR with those numbers drafted in the top 15???

Not in the 1st or 2nd round we don't with bigger problems on the roster. We don't have the Luxury to pick up another project at WR right now. If their was a Michael Floyd (who was picked 13th last year) maybe I'd agree with you.

We have enough projects at WR right now in my opinion and bigger needs on the team.

my reasoning for drafting a wr above the other needs is because dt and og can be taking care of in free agency with cheap vets. impact cb can be found in the 2nd and 3rd round if we want to go that route. wr is something we will not be able to fix through free agency, only through the draft. Patterson numbers lie because his QB is garbage and has never completed more than 60% of his passes so how about you do some homework. and who told you he doesnt have good hands is a lie you need to read some scouting reports. his size speed and elusiveness will make have an impact. he is excellent at the jump ball and would be excellent in the redzone his first year.

also for the record i really dont want him at 14. if you go look at my mock i would rather trade down further and select him there.

by the way who do you suggest taking at 14...

i agree. oline and wr is something you can really on get in the draft when you have little cap room

If I had to pick who our best CB was last year it'd be Josh Thomas

and no not in the sense of "Well we made a best of a bad situation." Josh Thomas played really good corner play last season.

also are you measuring how good a CB is based on how many tackles and pick sixes they have because if so lmfao.
