Why the Panthers Do Not Draft A WR Early

Recommended Posts

Basically, the more things change, the more things stay the same. One thing that is different though is Gettleman. From all accounts he is a master evaluator of talent, so uniting him with Ron Rivera should produce at least one or two great draft picks. I am going to have faith in whomever they pick in the first and second rounds, regardless of position.

Hurney valued LBs (4-3) and RBs.....Gettlemen values DL and WRs. They are nothing alike

koolkatluke are you trying to argue that drafting a WR that could help wouldn't change the dynamic of this team

Because that's bullshit a rookie WR could be a great help if we pick the right one.

EDIT: Reading your earlier posts that's exactly what you're saying.

You're saying only AJ Green/Calvin johnson/Julio Jones type WRs can help thier first years and uh

T.Y. Hilton (third round pick) : 50 Catches, 861 yards, 7 TDs

Torrey Smith (second round pick) : 50 catches, 841 yards, 7TDs

Mike Williams (fourth round pick): 65 catches, 964 yards, 11TDs

Percy Harvin (first round pick): 60 catches, 790 yards, 6TDs

just to name a few.

So can DT, CB and O-line men all needs before WR.

I'll ask you these questions

1. Were we a top 5 scoring offense when Chud was a better Play caller?

2. Were we a good offense when our Oline was playing up to standard?

3. How many games this year did our WR's cost us?

Neither is Wr unless you see a AJ Green, Julio Jones or Megatron in this class. Which I don't.

So because we can't get a top 6 in the draft WR with our 14th pick, we shouldn't draft one? What kind of logic is that? Using that reasoning, we would never get one.

Not in a avg. wr year.

You people are pumping up SO-SO prospects because you want a wr so bad. Just like last year with all the Stephen Hill poo.

Not all top WRs look like Megatron with his draft grade.

NYGs steadily bring in WR talent every year. Not 6th rounder and converted QBs. They don't just wait for a Hakem Nicks and call it a half decade.
