My Early 2013 Mock Draft

Kemba is 12th in the NBA in APER among all guards. He's 8th in the NBA in APER among all PG's. He averages 18 points per game on 43% shooting, 35% from 3, 80% from FT, close to 6 assists per game, and roughly 2 steals per game. He's also one of the hardest workers out on the court and is just full of intensity. Kemba has played like a top 10 PG any way you slice it... offensive or defensively. All of this while playing with the worst supporting cast of any of PG (and it's not really even close).

I'm sorry that you don't believe that Kemba can lead a team to an NBA title, but he can. Hell, he's better right now than most PG's in recent memory that have "lead" their team to an NBA title. Let's take a look at former championship teams and who their PG was.

2012 Miami Heat: Mario Chalmers: 6-2, 3.5 assists per game. Offense ran through LeBron and Wade.

2011 Dallas Mavericks: Jason Kidd: 6-4, 5.5 assists per game. Offense ran through Dirk and Jason Terry.

2010 Los Angeles Lakers: Derek Fisher, 6-1, 2.5 assists per game. Offense ran through Kobe and Gasol.

2009 Los Angeles Lakers: Derek Fisher, 6-1, 3.2 assists per game. Offense ran through Kobe and Gasol.

2008 Boston Celtics: Rajon Ronder: 6-1, 5.1 assists per game. Offense ran through the Big 3.

2007 San Antonio Spurs: Tony Parker: 6-1, 5.5 assists per game. Offense ran through Duncan / Big 3.

2006 Miami Heat: Jason Williams: 6-1, 4.9 assists per game. Offense ran through D-Wade and Shaq.

*Gary Payton was also a key PG in the 2006 Miami Heat team. He averaged 3.2 assists per game.

Will you ever put this nonsense to bed? It doesn't take a PG averaging 8+ assists per game in the NBA to win a championship. It takes multiple superstar players to win. I only see 1 PG since 2006 that has "lead" his team to a title that I would take over Kemba and that is Tony Parker. You do realize that once we put good players around Kemba that his assists will go up, right? It's honestly a wonder that Kemba is averaging close to 6 assists per game playing with the likes of MKG, Mullens, Bismack, Hakeem Warrick, Brenden Haywood, Jeff Adrien, etc. Give him a Wiggins + an Al Jefferson and then we can talk.

The only PGs on that list that is mediocre are Williams, Chamlers? And maybe Fisher?

I hope you're kidding me about Parker, Kidd, and Rondo,

Please don't tell me that you would take 2011 Jason Kidd and 2008 Rajon Rondo over Kemba Walker. If so, I'm done.

No need to get rid of Kemba, but you do have to work around his talents. It would help to have another facilitator on the team so the team doesnt have to rely on Kemba to create shots for everyone else, and it would also help to have a big man who offers some sort of threat on the pick and roll to complement his ability to penetrate. He's not Steve Nash, but he's also not Jamal Crawford- he can make find the open guy when the defense is forced to help, but he doesnt naturally run the offense like a traditional PG

In no particular order but Chris Paul, Kyrie Irving, Derrick Rose "when healthy", Russell Westbrook, Rajon Rondo, Tony Parker, Kemba Walker, Brandon Jennings, John Wall, Derron Williams and an honarble mention for Damion Lliard.

Let me break this down to you a little bit here.

Walker is 7th in scoring among PG's, 16th in assist (that's ahead of Jennings and Irving), 10th if FG%, 16th in 3pt FG%, 4th in Rebounding, 4th in Steals, 2nd in blocks, averages less turnovers then everyone on that list except for CP3. Also add in to the fact that Kemba is the only true threat on the Bobcats and what he's doing is even more impressive. His assist would be up around 8 if other players on the bobcats could hit a few jumpers consistently.

yall got to agree to disagree on Kemba.

I personally like him but my way of thinking is different. I feel like we need to improve our weaknesses not our strengths. Right now our only strengths are PG with Kemba and Sessions. We need to upgrade SG and a big man PF or C depending on whether the front office sees Biz as a C or PF.

I go for all around point guard play, you've listed Curry. lol

Kemba currently out pacing him in steals, blocks and has fewer turnovers. They're shooting numbers are similar, 43.2 - 44% and despite the fact that Curry is on a far superior team he only averages .9 more assist per game. Oh and add to that Curry can't seem to stay healthy and is a below average defensive player.

Ty Lawson - Kemba is outpacing him in points, steals, blocks, rebounds and FG % with Lawson being on a far superior team. His only advantage over Kemba is assist and that's only a difference of 1.3 assist per game..

Jrue Holiday is averaging 4 turnovers a game and is why he's not on my list, he's playing lights out so far but he's in his fourth year and this is the first time he's looked like a competent passing PG. Kemba is still out pacing him in Steals, Blocks and has far fewer turnovers, once again Holiday is on a far better team then the Bobcats.

PG has to be able to take care of the ball and Holiday fails to do that far too often.

This is what happens when someone try to debate a topic with a HOMER. Nothing is going anywhere. Try thinking outside the box. If you weren't a Cats fan, would you consider Kemba a Top10 PG? I bet if Teague was the PG here, you'll be all over him also.

Go find me a quote from an expert that said Kemba is a Top10 PG and I'll shut up. Bc if I was to ask you again, Kemba would be a Top3 in your view.

You told me that youre going for all around PG play but then you listed Kemba, Jennings, and Lillard on your list. Whom are all shooting PGs just like Curry. Curry is actually a much better passer than all of them.

I really can't believe you're trying to tell me Kemba is better than Curry. "HOMER" "BIASED"!!!!!

How can some fans (Homers) go to sleep at night knowing they're telling themselves lies and believing it? Wow!

I go to sleep at night happily knowing Kemba is a Top15-18 PG in this league. Yea, in the real world. Not in this Biased Homer forum. In real society with feedbacks from the experts.

I guarantee all of y'all NBA talk show (Magic, Shaq, Barkley, etc), Espn, Etc ain't saying Kemba is a top10 PG. Quit living in fantasy and start living in reality.

You're not following your own advice when you tell us that and then tell us MJ is gonna sign Paul.

That's a hope. I never once said I guarantee CP3 is coming here. I said I'm positive MJ will go after him hard. Why wouldn't he? He went after Harden.

That's HOPE. Not a Lie. Not saying Kemba is a top10 when really he is a top15-18.

All around doesn't just mean passing, duh. I was talking about Curry's below average defense in the NBA. I gave reasons and listed stats, all you managed to do was call me a homer. lol.

In the Kemba an All star? thread, I plainly said that while Kemba was playing lights out that a few other players deserved it over him.... but yea I'm a homer.... lol

You listed Ty lawson who's getting killed this season by Kemba's all around game. You listed the turnover machine that is Holliday and a player who can't play defense all that well over Kemba.

Who has comparable stats to them all, Let me list them for you. Maybe you'll read them this time instead of skipping over them.

7th in scoring, 4th in Rebounds, blocks and steals, 10th in FG %, 16th in assists and 3pt fg%.

In scoring he's outpacing Paul, Rondo, Wall, Rubio, Williams and Lawson.

The only players ahead of him in rebounds from your list is Rondo, Westbrook and Holiday

The only players ahead of him in Steals from your list is Paul

The only players ahead of him in Blocks is Wall and Williams

The only players ahead of him in Turnovers is Paul

One of the most important stats for a PG Ass/TO, Kemba leads Curry, oh Lillard and Jennings lead curry too. lol

Holliday is second in the NBA with 177 turnovers. lmao He also has one of the worst Assist to turnover ratios in the NBA among starting PG's.

On top of all those stats that say your wrong, wait prove your wrong....

Kemba and Jennings both play better defense then Curry. Hell Lillard plays better defense then Curry and there all better passer's with better Assist to turnover ratios then Curry.

Just stop cause your the homer here....
