Signing one of the most talented young DT's in the league for a reasonable price to give the Bengals one of the youngest and best Dlines in the NFL(Atkins 12 sacks 24 y/o, Johnson 11.5 sacks 26 y/o, Melton 6 Sacks 26 y/o, Dunlap 6 sacks 23 y/o). Didn't even include Domata Peko who is very good at playing the run.

Not doubting the talent. But Peko is already making good money and Atkins is a FA next year. LB is a much more major issue. DT wasn't close to an area of need.

Anyway I'm just glad you didn't target Ellerbe like I thought you would. ;)
