Chris Gamble, CB, Carolina Panthers Before his injury, Gamble surrendered a reception once every 20.5 coverage snaps. Captain Munnerlyn allowed one every 9.5 coverage snaps in relief.

Gamble makes sense, he's a terrific corner. I thought the secondary played pretty well without him, considering the only player with experience was Captain Munnerlyn and he's really only a nickel back. It shows we can survive without Gamble, provided Norman and Thomas take a step forward and we draft a decent late round CB and sign a cheaper veteran that can start.

Edit: With no Gamble, Beason and Kalil, our team really missed out on some good talent this year. If Beast and Kalil come back strong, they are going to help out so much.

If we cut Gamble, we're going to need to bring in a viable Vet to take his place (just my opinion).

All our other corners are green as hell, and we aren't even positive if we are bringing back the Captain.

If we cut Gamble, we're going to need to bring in a viable Vet to take his place (just my opinion).

All our other corners are green as hell, and we aren't even positive if we are bringing back the Captain.

I can see us bringing back Captain as a nickel-only back, but if that happens, you can bet Gamble is gone. Quinton Jammer makes sense. He'd likely only command $2-3 million and is good enough to start most games. If Norman improves, he can start too.

Agreed. Its kind of sad that we wasted so much of Gambles career by letting Foxy put him in zone coverage so often. If he'd be willing to take a fat pay cut I'd be all for keeping him. The fact that the team has proven he is a luxury along with his age and injury history of late does not warrant keeping him for even half his current price tag tho.

I doubt he'd be willing, but if Gamble did take a huge, huge paycut (like $5 million per year) in order to stay with the Panthers, he'd become on of the favorite players of the astute fan. Having Gamble, Thomas, Captain and Norman would give us a very serviceable secondary. Now if only we had another good safety to add to the mix...

I think thats where the problem is, pretty much everyone knows for him to be worth us keeping, he'd be vastly gimping his actual worth. I just hope we don't flat out cut him and try to get a 6th/7th for him at least.
