Reason Why Sherrod Was Benched

I'm not major evaluator of talent, but I thought Sherrod saw some signs of serious improvement this season. If he comes back from his injury ok, he's an above average backup safety.

Agreed... He had that one had angle on the tackle in the Eagles game but other than that he improved

Nakamura surprisingly graded out in the middle of the pack in terms of safeties. Granted he was the final nail in the coffin for that Falcons game, it's Godfrey whose PFF grading is hovering within the bottom 5 of the league.

Godfrey always grades as one of the worst S in the NFL per PFF.

Godfrey turned out to be a much better FS... Rivera said it himself, so now we need a SS.

Nah, he has been horrible at FS here...most of his snaps here have been at FS.

We need a FS and SS. Godfrey has stunk at both spots. Whichever spot he is better at....has never been good S play

Nope, Godfrey was moved to SS when Harris was cut and Martin became our starting FS.

They tried Nakamura at FS and we all know how that worked out, so they switched Godfrey to FS and Rivera said he realized Godfrey was much better suited to play FS towards the end of this past season.

His first 2 seasons where at FS, next two at SS and was a mix this year.

Okay, he has played about the same at both spots. A hot mess at both.

He was one of the worst S in the NFL this year prior to the move....he may have played slightly better but he isn't good. Just bc he isn't set the house on fire bad like Nakamura doesn't make him not a bad S

    • Getting a general one going in the main forum a week ahead of the draft. Take this all with a grain of salt.  This stuff usually ends up wildly different; but truths are peppered in.   Notes as of late: The common top-4, barring trades: 1-Ward, 2-Hunter, 3-Carter, 4-Campbell (I do wonder if NYG take calls) Giants are seeing Shedeur once more but still sounds like they're leaning Carter (Maybe trading up from 34?) Jeanty to the Jaguars is starting to pick up legitimate steam.  Vegas odds have dramatically increased, Brugler and a few others have switched him as their JAX choice at 5.   If that happens, the Raiders could very well be eyeing Jalon Walker Jets choice to come down to Graham vs. Warren vs. Membou (if all 3 end up available) Panthers have been linked to both UGA guys, mostly Jalon Walker.  Buuut do wonder what happens if Graham is there.
