Game 6: Carolina Hurricanes (2-3) vs. Ottawa Senators (5-1-1)

Recommended Posts

Big game tonight, the Sens are without Spezza and the Canes have had Ottawa's number the past two seasons and they need to have it tonight to stay in the hunt for the top 8.

Ottawa is still a great team and actually the best team in the NHL's Eastern Conference with the hottest goal tender in hockey right now in Craig Anderson. This test will truly tell the Canes where they stand among the NHL's finest.

I advise you not to look at the standings unless you have to because the Canes are currently really close to the bottom, however we have played the least amount of games in the NHL. Back to back wins against the Senstors and Flyers would put us right back in the drivers seat.

News and Notes

Dan Ellis gets the start in net tonight.

Justin Faulk is back in the line up tonight.

Joe Corvo is also in the lineup tonight.

Bobby Sanguinetti is a heathy scratch.

Andreas Nodl will see his first action with the Canes tonight on the fourth line with Chad LaRose and Tim Brent.

Pat Dwyer will be bumped up to the third line with Jiri Tlusty and Jussi Jokinen.

Kevin Westgarth is a healthy scratch tonight.

Jussi Jokinen has been bumped to the top line on the power play and Jordan Staal will lead the second power play unit.

Go Canes!!!
