Won't be easy. He's a persistent little bugger. Hardly ever gives up when he wants something.

Manipulative too. Sometimes he'll peck at me, and then before I can even say anything he'll have his head down cooing stuff like "pretty bird, daddy loves the bird" in a soft, sweet voice.

On the flip side, just about every time I swear in front of her, the female will look at me and in a reproachful manner say "be good" :blink:

(only thing I can figure is she's reacting to my tone of voice)

I doubt he could fly with the iPad. He's picked up things I thought were too heavy for him before, but I doubt he could get this.

My old apartment had a walk-in closet with a metal rack that had slots for hangers. Since I'm kinda compulsive about stuff, I hung all my shirts exactly two spaces apart.

One day while I was working on something, I could hear Fox in the closet. He liked to try and build nests out of free coat hangers, but that day he seemed to be doing something different. Curiosity got the better of me and I went to look at what he was up to.

The little nimrod had moved nearly all of my shirts exactly one slot to the left.

When he saw me, he stopped and sat there with an "I wasn't doing anything" manner in his body language.

The ex said "I guess you must be pretty bad if even the bird knows how to irritate you" :blink:

I wouldn't think he could possibly have known that, but as to why he did it? No idea :unsure:

This is Fox.

Despite how he might look like he wants to rip your face off, he's actually very friendly. "Mischievous, but friendly" is what this breed of parrot tends to be known for.

To be clear, he's not named after the old coach. His legband says FX3235 (breeder was called Florida Exotics). I saw that and decided to call him "Fox".

The female's name is "Quak", which is short for quaker parrot.

I realize these names took a lot of crativity on my part :unsure:

But just so you know, Fox absolutely loves the taste of chicken. Turkey too. He'll even eat scrambled eggs (kinda disturbing when you think about it).

I took a picture a while back of him holding a wing from Dominos in his claw and munching on it. Pic somehow got deleted though :(

I had a litter trained pet rabbit that loved ground beef. I never gave it to him on purpose but he was always trying to steal my burgers and poo off my plate if I left it sitting.

There's something distinctly unnatural about a rabbit eating a cow.

It's possible, but very difficult. For most bird owners, the compromise is recognizing the body language of "I'm about to poop" and holding them over a can or something.

They'll also peck at your clothes, and that's a behavior that's nearly impossible to train out of them. That's why I have a bunch of old t-shirts that I use as "bird shirts".

Birds need a significant amount of attention. If that's not possible in your or your family's situation, I wouldn't recommend having a bird.
