Colin Kaepernick Didn't Think He'd Beat Newton To Super Bowl, He Says At Media Day (USA Today)

Until he gets locked up next week after the super bowl then he is fully black. Plus, not many pure black people left in America other than first generation Africans. oh...you mean the skin tone. My bad! Carry on!

Exactly if he robbed a bank or committed any crime he would be listed as black in the police records. All black Americans are mixed......most black Americans are anywhere from 10 to 20 percent white genetically on avg. With the majority of those folks having a white male great great grand parent.

If anything Kap should be applauded for proving a QB like Cam can get to a Super Bowl. Imagine if he wins it, he'd be the first black QB to win a Super Bowl since Doug Williams over 25 years ago. I'm happy for Colin and hope he plays well although I got Baltimore winning it.

Wait.... What Kaep. is black? The last time I looked. He look like he has some Indian in him or part mexican. But black he is not. He has a tan look to his skin. That is it.

Just so you know, Mexican is not a race. It's a country. Lol.

Black people encompass the whole range of colors and facial features. They're black people in Africa, who have never seen a white person in their life (except Anthropologist, Geneticist and other scientist), who are light/of light complexion, with Chinese eyes and straight noses, who scientist say are the oldest living people on earth (such as in Southern and Central, East Africa). So what you're saying doesn't mean much.

Saying all that: Kaepernick has a black and a white parent. And this is the reason why he was called black by some huddler's. I would call him mixed or a mulatto type myself (unless he has wooly hair, which is hard to tell, cause he keeps it cut so low). But then again, anthropologist would say he has a tropical limb build/skeleton and classify his as black. Nonetheless, there are black people with two black parents that can be of lighter complexion. Just as a black parent and a white parent can still produce a black child (phenotypically), even if their genotype is mixed.

It's not always as simple as you make it. And for the record, Native Americans (I think you called them Indians), can range in complexion as well. However, the one's from Mexico are usually much darker (and shorter for that matter). Lol

Remember Tiger Woods saying on Oprah that he didn not want to just identify himself as just simply black because he saw it as disrespecting his mother's culture, is what got him in trouble with the black race and used against him by the white race when they were ready to tear him down.

Being Bi-racial in this country is just as complicated as being any other race outside of white...just saying.

thats why its some questions you dont anwser lol

but yeah i agree with you man. but i would say being mixed will get you accepted by whites a lil better.

like i dont think obama would have won if he was a darker(higher percentage) black guy like stewart or beason...you know.....

I don't agree about the Obama part of your post. That is a totally different dynamic. Remember the only segment of this country that didn't vote for Obama this time around in larger numbers, like they did the last tme, were the blue-collar white males.Everything else pretty much either grew or stayed the same.

Remember, it wasn't the blacks who created the one drop of black blood makes you automatically black thinking. So, I don't know about the whites accepting multi-ethic folks a lil better.

Anyway, I just believe it's still a matter of how you're seen. I'm sure if Colin was still sitting on a bench, he wouldn't be so accepted by anyone.

Plus, Russel Wilson is multi-ethic and even he had to listen to the whole, "you're too short and should be stuff." How much taller is Drew Brees than Russel?

well lighter skinned blacks tend to be more famous to me??? especially on the woman side.... like most of the lighter blacks was house servants and slave owners wouldnt go as far(hurting) with them compared to a darker slave because alot of times they were kin to them.

remember now that racism became a little of a no no in america...so i guess alot of racist switched from hes a "oh no hes mixed with black" to "well at least he has some white in him.....so maybe hes better than the pure black guy..."

just like i was on a forum one day and a racist guy claimed that all the black scientist who had made great contributions to america were mixed with white or of lighter skinned...meaning they smarter than pure africans....

idk maybe im wrong but it seems like that to me sometimes.

You're all over the place now.

Many of the biggest black stars (especially male) are/were dark skin (Denzel Washington, Oprah, Wesley Snipes, Will-Iam, Jay Z, Bill Cosby, Sidney Potier), as they could have been lighter skin stars. Like anything else, there's a diversity.

As far as the inventor thing, that's equally as wrong. People like George Washington Carver, Benjamin Banneker, Ben Carson and a myriad of others weren't light. Trust me. The difference is, the media only likes to pay attention to the light ones. Lol.

It's like Cuba and Brazil. They only show you the white or light skin people on TV (or the ones that live in Florida, with the Cuban's), while the majority of those countries, and many other similar ones are predominantly black.

I also have a problem with highlighting which blacks are light, or have less African/black in them for several reasons:

1) We don't do this with whites, despite the fact that we know many darker Portuguese, Spanish (Spain), Greeks, Italians and even Russians, have black blood due to black occupation during the middle ages, and even before for the Russians. We don't call them, "part white", do we?

2) Very few blacks in America, have zero white blood in their back ground (and vice versa many times as well). Nonetheless, a black and a white parent can still produce a distinctly black child. That's the difference between Phenotype (the physical), and Genotype, dealing with the bloodline. So the Obama example is not a good one, cause many dual black parents can produce a child that looks exactly like Obama, even if they're both darker.

Lastly, as I said earlier; they're blacks in Africa, that encompass a wide range of facial features and skin tones that have never seen a white person in the life, except maybe anthropologist, geneticist and reporters there to meet them. Many of these people are regarded as the oldest living humans, as geneticist can trace all of our lineages back to them, 60-200,000 years ago (modern Humans as Homo Sapien Sapien). And because of this, many prominent scientist today believe that skin variation and facial feature diversity (besides climate and environment), came out of Africa and is not due to racial mixing. In other words, you have people in Africa that look like Obama and lighter, who never seen a white person in their life. National Geographic and many other mainstream and scientific publications, via DNA, Paleontology, Linguistics, orthodontics and archaeologically have already confirmed this.

Sorry for the treatise. But I hope that helped? Lol
