Ravens team unity was the deciding factor for Jacoby Jones over Panthers

Honestly though, this is what concerns me since that 2009 season... Remember how after Seifert they completely blew up the team from the inside-out and everywhere in between? It was because Fox said that complacency had snuck in, or whatever you choose to call it. It's not like guys decide, "well, we suck and we're not ever gonna get better. I'm just gonna go through the motions."

Losing takes its toll on the subconscious as well, and I fear that that may be a problem with our team now, especially considering the Hurney comments after he was fired. There is a systemic problem.

yep...not a knock on the panthers. he just liked what was happening in baltimore more. can't say i blame him. its a good team thats been together for a while, got a good coach, the team is used to winning and is in the playoffs every year....and they're all on the same page and have only one thing on their mind, winning it all.

that's not us. we've got potential. they've got results. hopefully some year rome will finally be built and that will be us.

good leadership develops unity. thats just something we're lacking. winning also helps bring people together. its building a culture that we just don't have.

Bullsh*t!

I'm not saying he is taking a shot at us, because he isn't, but there are some inferences that can be made from what he did say.

And from the stories we've heard over the years since 2009 especially, it's clear there has been some dysfunction in our locker room/organization, at least moreso than teams like the Ravens would ever have.

I'm here

Not really upset and like Rayzor mentioned we have potential, but it addresses something I wouldn't mind diving into right now:

We've been like this imo since the likes of Minter and Delhomme left. People can say how bad the Jake-era ended, but he was a glue for the whole organization.

It's been apparent certain intangibles are mia on the team and the blame falls at the top. No one seems to be taking the drivers seat for this franchise.

You can have a good attitude, image, and certain style of play, but when you lack direction and leadership, you're not going to produce a consistent winner. I really like some of the players we've assembled over recent years and feel really good about Cam and Kuechly, but for some reason I just feel annoyed and uneasy about this whole organization more than ever.

Now from my perspective, Gross is one of the guys really holding the locker room together (see: lockout practices) but hes aging and may not be here much longer. Someone needs to really take the bull by the horns and lead this team.

JR is JR, Ron's not doing it, but I'm hopeful for Cam and Keek. We'll see what happens.

what you just said is different from ........

Translation: The Panthers locker room has a losing mentality.

I would also believe that most teams have more dysfunction in their lockerrooms than the Ravens.

My bad, I wasn't trying to put words in his mouth. What I meant was...

Synopsis: The Panthers locker room has a losing mentality.

That being said, do you disagree that we have a losing mentality?

jacoby chose ravens because they had a way better coach and defense....which means a wayy better chance at a super bowl.

point and blank...he just didnt want to come out and say it because you would sound like lebron lol

you think these players are stupid lol they know who;s gonna help them get that superbowl....guys are not coming here until rivera is gone. it has nothing to do with cam.

He stated he visited the Panthers during Spring (March - June) as a Free Agent.

That would have placed his visit between the following events:

Rookie Mini-Camp: May 11-13

Mini-Camp: June 12-14

OTA's: May 22-24, May 30-June 1, June 4-7

How can you judge a team's locker room/team unity/leadership based on these events? Most of the players are vying for a roster spot and the team as whole wouldn't be complete until early September.

His decision had to have been made based on current leaders on the team. Say what you want about Ray Lewis, but that man can command a locker room or any room for that matter.
