Arthur Blank also "scaring" Atlanta into giving him money for stadium

the idea that football teams have a positive impact on the local economy is complete bullshit peddled to low info voters.

10 times a year a couple hundred people make minimum wage to clean, stand around, and hand you hot dogs, most of which is done by volunteers anyway.

i guess football players spend money but if that's the case it'd make more sense for them to take the money they'd give Blank to build a new stadium and throw it out of a helicopter.

You forget about income taxes from player salaries and the revenue earned by local businesses on a game day, I remember hearing that each Panthers game was worth about 8 million dollars in revenue to businesses in Charlotte.

An NFL team also has value beyond the revenue it generates, the Panthers legitimized Charlotte.

Folks who bitch about their tax dollars being spent on local NFL teams would have a seizure if they knew about some of the other crap it was spent on. But they don't whine about those dollars, because they are not on the front page of the Observer. Life experience tells me that an NFL franchise IS good for a city/state/region, in spite of what some say. And lastly the amount that the Cats are asking for is miniscule per person/taxpayer. Of course you'll always have these uptight azzh*les that act like someone is holding them at gunpoint for the 12 cents that they will actually pay as an individual.

And we're talking about a 1% tax increase on food and beverages... so when you buy a beer it will cost you an extra cent now! LOL

Cheap bastards.
