3 seasoned vet Giants to keep an eye on due to ties with Gett & needs here

The Giants are estimated to be 5-9+ mil over the cap, so they will undoubtedly have to make some moves. Corey Webster (CB) may be on the chopping block, though his name may be bigger than his skills at this point. Moreover there is Chris Canty (DT), who---coming off knee surgery---played decently during the last part of last season, but ultimately re-aggravated his knee. Lastly there is Antrelle Rolle (S), who will probably restructure, but is worth mentioning as a possibility. Just throwing it out there as food for thought.

Even then it will be stretched.

WAAYYYY past time this team planned for longer than the 8-8 season it has coming up next.

Yeah.

So we are $16M over (although another article says $11M)

Gamble Edwards Williams and Nakamura cuts will get us $17M

Gotta sign a backup QB for $1M so we are even after all that.

We can cut Gross for another $6.7...but would need to replace him with a FA so we will keep him

We can restructure Gross and Beason for some amount.

Basically all our free agent money will come from Gross and Beason depending on what we do with them.

If those numbers are right we should have a few million to spend.

    • It's sort of funny you guys were so bad with 3s tonight about the same time Silver and LeBron both say the game is broken due to too many 3 attempts. The NBA is almost unwatchable. No defense, refs call fouls for almost anything, guys care more about looking pretty on the court than playing tough, etc. Today's NBA is putrid.
    • It's gotten more complicated with the change of CBS and FOX no longer being exclusive AFC/NFC partners From a home team perspective, the NFL requires the home market (which is typically the broadcast reach of the station airing the game) to carry the game. For times where there is a conflict (let's say, FOX Charlotte is airing some major news event) then the broadcast will go to a local station that FOX Charlotte has an arrangement with -- like the CW, maybe.  Only in super-rare instances would local FOX throw the game over to a major competitor like to WSOC/ABC. But it could happen This is how games that are "exclusive" to streaming will end up being broadcast by a local channel in those home team markets -- because the NFL wants the local market to be able to see the game.  Amazon TNF games will always be available on some local channel in those teams' markets, for example. Or the upcoming Netflix games For TV markets that do not have a local team, then the local station gets to choose from what's available. Ideally, they'd choose a regional game or one that is close in the conference.  In Atlanta, for example, we would typically get one of the NFC South matchups for times when the Falcons aren't playing.
