Yep...and any one of those guys would be an up grade over 4/5 our current DTs.

Question is though... How many of those 4/5 DT will be on our roster?. Dwan and Neblett are free agents, Ron Edwards might be a cap casualty, and Fua honestly doesn't need to play in the NFL

Under the scenario in which we keep Gross, this is a fine direction to take. I'm up in the air on the top-4 or so receivers but would be fine if we landed Patterson. I also like the added weapon at TE later in the draft. We need a Garrett Graham, James Casey, Tom Crabtree, Delanie Walker type on this team.

Good write-up

Yeah, that's why I said 'current DTs'. I'd say atleast 2 or 3 of them are gone.

BTW. I do believe Dwan is under contract next season.

You do realize if you have a stout DLine you can have pretty much anybody in the secondary right? Thomas was probably our best CB out there and he balled out, Norman is a 5th round rookie out of a DII school facing some of the best WR in the league and he did pretty good for what he is (plus they didn't use him to his strengths), Dockery played alright (I'd have him coming off the bench) he made some pretty good plays every now and then.

So what I'm saying is I don't believe we should look for a CB until the 4th, 5th, or 6th round unless there is a sure fire #1 CB out there.

We had a stout Dline and Brady F'n Quinn had a career day. You are fooled by 6 games and now we are OK with 3 CB (who are still not Proven) and a 4th to 6th round pick. Are you serious???

I get sick of seeing you post this... You do realize we had Fua starting at NT that game because big Ron was out right? Anything with Fua starting isn't a stout DLine... Plus Brady Quin was Captain Checkdown that game IIRC he went deep a total of 2 maybe 3 times. And if they would've preformed like this the last two games I'd agree with you about being "fooled" they played good for 6 games man CB isn't on the top of the needs list.

Yes I'd be fine with Norman (playing press coverage not giving the WR cushion) and Thomas starting on the outside. If Rhodes is there in the second I'd take him but other than that (right now) I would feel fine with grabbing one in the 4th, 5th, or 6th round.

Where is the dam CB? The 6th round are you serious?

Do you people not understand that there is a good chance we could lose Captain and Gamble and only have Thomas, Norman, and Dockery on the roster. It's crazy that some of you are good with that poo.

Cb is a bigger need then WR.

Norman and Thomas will be here. Thats to average CBs.

The other will be Gamble, if not then a FA (Cason/McKelvin). I'm hopin. And yes 1yr deal.

Their is a good chance RON won't be here next year. So you can't use that as a excuse.

Brees had 396 yards passing 4td 1int

Oaklands QB got knock out (that won't happen all the time)

Philip Rivers was held in check because he has a horrible OLine

Ryan had 342 yards 2 td 1 int

The Torching By Brady Quinn 201 yards 2td 1int

And Nick Foles who is a rookie

These are the last 6 QB faced and the better ones torched us.

We Also look at the Freeman Game he had 248 yards and 3td 2 int (we lost in the last 4 mintues from his passing)

And then Peyton killed us as well.

Again we could lose Captain and Gamble and nobody thinks it could be a bigger need?

Last question

How many games did our WR's loss us compare to how many games the CB's did?

I don't want us to draft a WR first... I want us to take a DT (preferably a NT) and a lot of those QB's you've named are the best in the league. I honestly think that we do need a CB but no need to reach for one IMO it's not as big of a need as NT or RG

That's not a excuse??? 3 of those guys are in our division so we will see them 6x next year.

CB has to be a 1st or 2nd Round option. Or at least bring in a strong vet FA.

Ok, lets look at a scenario for a second we've just drafted a NT with the first and the second round approaches. On one hand you have a great offensive guard that has lasted to the Panthers spot (protect your franchise QB) in the other you have Xavier Rhodes who are you taking?

I seriously doubt we'll have money to bring in a serious vet FA
