Saints fire Steve Spagnuolo as they move to a 3-4

Don't they know you can't just change from a 4-3 to 3-4 in one offseason? And the Jets are changing to a West Coast offense this year.

If they read the Huddle, they would know that these sudden system changes are nearly impossible without sucking for years.

He and Rivera coached defense togother in Philly (Rivera coached linebackers, Spagnuolo defensive backs).

And DP is right. He has coached LBs before. In fact, he's coached all three phases of defense. Did pretty well as DC in New York where he also would have worked with Dave Gettleman.

I'd bring him aboard. He probably needs to take a step down the ladder (DC to position coach) to rehab his image anyway.

That would give us a wickedly strong defensive coaching staff, with Rivera, McDermott, Wilkes, Spagnuolo, Washington, et al.

I'd love it.
