I agree with the sideline stuff as well.

Most of the time he goes straight to the bench and puts a towel over his head. I definitely can see him growing though. He's YOUNG. We have all seen him maturing before our eyes. Next year I see him stepping up a lot as a leader and getting more involved.

I think Flacco is a little high. He runs very inconsistent at times. He's had a good run in the playoffs, but he can look atrocious at times.

Cam always looked over film and sat down with Shula from day one (win or lose).

However, the media created this false image of Cam, by showing him on the sidelines with his towel (which he does regardless of how the game is going or how he's doing), while they show other QB's talking to their teammates and coaches. Cam was no different. However television chose to show him sitting alone. Of course, as of late they show him more now with his coaches. But that doesn't take away from the fact that he had did this before.

Now Cam is not perfect. However, many of the things he gets called on, other QB's do the same thing and it never gets brought up or mentioned. That's what some Cam backers have a problem with.

The leader thing is overrated as well. If the Panthers had a real head coach (Rivera is learning his job more than Cam actually), the leadership would start from the top and everyone on the team would know their roles and place. It's easy to be a leader when your team is winning and you have stability at the top from a head coach who knows what he's doing and is in control of his team. Rivera was not, and the job, both on and off the field got away from him.

Remember, Rivera himself has mentioned to the media, that he should have hired a former HC to help him out with the job. How do you expect Cam to be a leader, when the Head Coach doesn't know what's he's doing, and the team is losing or underachieving? It's not the same.

Not bad. The thing too remember too is that Cam is younger than Kap and Wilson. Those guys plus RG3 and Luck were at the same program using the same system with the exception of Wilson going to Wisconsin as a 5th year Sr. I think Cam still has more room to mature and take advantage of his current stability. Hopefully Rivera and Shula can be who we want them to be and keep Cam in a stable environment for a while.

A new or rookie QB can be a leader during their first year. However, its' not going to happen if the HC or team sucks. Cause when that happens there's no stability. And when there's no stability from the head coach you have no leaders, cause you have to get it from the coach first.

If you have a good team or a coach that's in charge: The players that he really likes, automatically become designated leaders, if not adopted ones (by his teammates).

That's why great QB's are almost always associated with Great Coaches, or at the very least, very good or competent coaches. They go hand in hand.
