Dave Gettleman & Ron Rivera On WFNZ The Drive at 4 and 5pm Today

It was a good interview.

However...he's still on a short leash and has one more year to prove himself. He can take all that stuff he's apparently learned over the past couple of years and put it all to work next season to ensure a playoff spot. It's all or nothing for him...anything less than a wildcard spot and that's it.

Look, I am a PSL holder. I want this guy to succeed; however, to be in this league this many years and not get the basic concept of how to lead and motivate people, i'm sorry that is really concerning.

If you didn't take it that way, your perogative.

I want him to tell me what he plans to do to make this team better, a team not to be embarrassed on National TV.

I look at his coaching staff compared to the top tier teams in the league and he's not there.

If he's talking about his 'xs and os' well, he'll have a chance against two to the best this year in Harbaugh and Bellinchik. Let's see how he does.

I want a whole lot less run on sentences and a lot more feeling that there is a plan of what they are doing. I dont see it.

What happens in the locker room and how he leads his players has nothing to do with what he says to the local media...

All it seems Beane did, was be the go-between Rivera and the rest of staff. And that's what Rivera was most likely happy about. However, that doesn't give you the right to run the team, and thank god Big Cat and Acorsi saw/knew that. LOL

Maybe next time you appoint an Assistant GM for the team, so these things don't happen anymore, and you don't have to big up a glorified Office Assistant in Beane.

I can't believe Rivera was being led/shown around by this guy. SMH

Hopefully, he's learned and is now Large and In Charge!!!!!!

Damn, talk about being unqualified from the beginning. What the hell was Hurney and JR thinking about when they interviewed him? No wonder this guy got passed up like 9 times before he finally got a job. But he has taking his lumps and i hope he gets it right from here on out.

He was asked about having a HC on the team, after he said he could have used/needed one previously. And he kinda laughed it off, and claimed that he already took the lumps himself, which seems like he won't do it anymore. He said if he finds one; yes! But he doesn't feel it's paramount anymore.

He also reiterated, he "could match X & O's with anyone, but he had to learn to manage and micro-manage the coaches, coach the coaches, the team, etc., and even bigged up Brandon Beane big time, for helping him understand the various parameters and responsibilities of his job. WTF!? LOL

When asked about him being too passive, he claimed that was the first 8 games, but said not the last 8. He said "watch him". He also said, that when Cam got hurt in NO, he said he didn't go out to Cam, he said, he went out to the O-Line and yelled at them, saying "This Can't Happen Again!".

He claimed he was more passionate, said "watch me (to the host)", and had no problem admitting that he was learning, continues to learn, but nonetheless is better prepared for 2013.

Damn!! As much as I don't want to like this guy: You can't help but like or respect his clueless ASS!! LOL

I hope it works out for him.

That was for you Ivan The Awesome. I know you couldn't get the feed.

Thanks man, I just listened to it.

It's almost like he's talking to all the mopey heads of the huddle.

"Judge me in the last 8 games!" lmao! I'm not sure if he reads the huddle but he has to know what people say about him.

Well, it would be an easy way to get a fix on a fan base with out conducting an impromptu poll. Plus, you'd find out/know why. And it's written in all it's explicit, emotional, gory or detached detail for you. Ron is a stalker/secret Huddler!? LOL

Well, I'll say this much: he really sounds like he's learning and not just bullshitting. He was pretty adamant that he has changed with that call to look at how he coached the last eight games, so as much as the Huddle seems to imagine a coach never changes I think they'll see a different Rivera next year.

i'm going to judge him on a whole season. he doesn't get to cherry pick which part of the season to be judged. you go to the playoffs based on a whole season.

if he wants people to judge him on his successes, then he should be more successful.

things went better the end of the season, but that was the same story from the year before and we went backward. until he proves otherwise, that is his trend. that is his legacy as a HC. i don't care how much those players love him or if they don't give up. winning is all that matters. not just part of it, the whole of it. you don't have to be perfect, but you better be able to pull out a winning season.

i feel a bit better about him heading into next year, but i am still far from convinced he's the right man for the job. if this team doesn't come out of the gates the way it ended the season last year he needs to be gone.

he sounds like he's trying really hard to make a case that he knows what he's doing, but to continue to say that he could have used some help from more experienced coaching and doing nothing to bring any in shows that he's a hard case. it's not enough to say i could use some more help and then do nothing to get it.

he wants people to feel better about him being the coach here? win.

i don't care how he acts.

i don't care how passionate someone is.

i care about only one thing. winning. that's the only change i care about. him going from a clueless losing coach to a coach that has a clue and wins.
