(Day one notes)

- Eric Fisher is unstoppable. Literally is on a whole other level, I honestly would put him right up there with Joeckel and unfortunately it looks like there's no way he makes it passed San Diego. Fisher looked bored out there today, nobody even competed against him. Alex Okafor was absolutely dominating but didn't do a damn thing against Fisher.

- Jordan Poyer is a name that doesn't get mentioned enough around here. He's definitely in the same class as Milliner/Banks/Rhodes, and proved so today. Completely blanketed every receiver he faced and showed incredible quickness and instinct. Plays with so much heart.

Anyone else take notes or ya'll just gonna repost Walterfootballs analysis?

i did. i watched the live look in and here are some prospects that stood out.

Eric Fisher- like you said he looked like a franchise LT. Michael Buchanan was blocked easily, and i only worried about if the competition he faced was below him but he proved yesterday that he can play with the big boys.

Jordan Poyer- quick feet, can flip his hips, and is just a magnet to the ball.

Aaron Dobson- Big, ran nice routes

Kawaan Short- quick, good hand placement. looks like a natural 3 tech.

Kyle Long- didnt like him at OT, but did look a lot better at LG.maybe the short arms makes him a better OG than OT.

Markus Wheaton- good route runner, quick, and a fighter. was getting mugged by Trufant but kept fighting to run the route, and would have got a PI from the defender.

Brandon Williams- can move a 341 pounder. proved he can play with the big boys, and will be the ideal NT in a 4-3.

Sylvester Williams- the ideal 3 tech or 5 tech. big body who can pass rush and disrupt.ideal 3 tech.

Datone Jones- truck DL that is athletic, quick, and powerful. can line up all across the DL but looks like a LDE or strongside DE.can also see him play some 5 tech and bump down to a 3 tech in passing situations.

deep talent at the senior bowl this year.another great website is draftcountdown.com they are also at the senior bowl.

so is Joe Person lol.

I watched Fisher specifically.. and wow, I was really impressed with that guy. I'm not sure who I'd compare him to, but I'd now love him as a #14 pick. Doubt he will be there at this point. I just hope we don't take an OG that high. Please trade down and acquire more picks if you want to take an OG.

Poyer looked good except the time where he grabbed jersey on a double move.

I liked Okafor but we aren't in the market for a DE.

I'm not a big fan of comparing prospects to a prospect that went to the same school, but he looks like a more polished Joe Staley.

That's what Mayock said.. Staley. I don't remember Staley as a prospect so I can't comment. He has the same size as Nate Solder, so he reminds me of him from a pure size aspect. Fisher seems more athletic to me though.

Staley is a tall guy like Fisher, played TE but converted to tackle. They're both super athletic and dominated at Central Michigan.

What is the story on Eric Fisher? He played at a small school. Is that why his stock is lower than Joeckel? Or is there actual tape that shows he's not as talented. I tend to believe the tape is more important than Senior Bowl practice although I do enjoy watching.

There was another tackle. Pugh I think, that measured with really short arms. Is that really enough to end his prospects as a tackle in the NFL or is that just false draft logic? I mean Geoff Schwartz and Byron Bell were late picks or undrafted but they could play in the NFL just fine.

Fisher was just at a small school prospect, said something like he only had 2 offers to play college ball. but he has the talent to be a franchise LT.Pugh does have short arms and when i was watching the practice yesterday he had trouble with the DEs when he was on the left side. Mayock said he will probably make the switch to the OG or the right side because he is very athletic.

It's honestly just a level of competition issue like always.

I love both prospects, and both will have excellent careers. I'm almost starting to like Fisher more though just based in his size and strength. Joeckel's got those little arms, he needs to get a lot bigger but he'll be okay.

I was expecting to be blown away by Margus Hunt, but he didn't flash much.

Long from Oregon looked not-so good at RT, but he played better at LG next to Fisher. When he played RT, he got bull rushed into the QB and got nailed in the back of the helmet with the football by QB Nassib. Was comical. I'd put a 3rd-4th Rd grade on Long based on that practice alone, but Im sure he will be taken before that.

South Practice - Accoring to WalterFootball (yes I am reposting walterfootball because NFLnetwork didn't air the South practice)

Louisiana Tech WR Quinton Patton was the standout of the day on offense. He caught every pass that came his way, even when not perfectly thrown. He could be seen verbally leading the WR group and helping others as the practice went on. His most impressive catch was a pass Tavarres King went up for, missed, and Patton caught it instead. Reminded of Vincent Brown when he was in Mobile.

Georgia DT John Jenkins is certainly easy to spot on the field, which was both a good and bad thing today. "Big John" got off to a slow start, struggling to keep his feet in positional drills and drawing corrective attention from coaches a handful of times. Jenkins came on later in the session though, showing outstanding strength, power and surprising athleticism. I was also impressed with how Jenkins responding to some tough-love coaching, which he may well need at the next level.

Oklahoma OT Lane Johnson was rag-dolled a bit at times and needs to get stronger but his pass pro abilities were on full displays. Johnson is rough around the edges but you just can't teach that type of size and athleticism. There is an opportunity for an offensive tackle in this game to push for a spot in late round one and Johnson is a prime candidate.

The star of the day was probably B.Y.U. DE Ezekiel Ansah, who is clearly raw but about as athletic of a defensive end as your going to find. Ansah was impressive in positional drills, displaying top-notch quickness, foot speed and agility. Ansah also made his presence felt in the team portions of the session, tipping passes in 7-on-7's and 11-on-11's. If Ansah continues to play like this all week he'll not only cement his spot in the first round but continue to climb up draft boards even further.

Tennessee OT / OG Dallas Thomas, who worked at left tackle most of the day, moves well and is athletic but is not overly stout at the point of attack. Thomas is going to be selected in the top three rounds, but will it be as a tackle or guard? Kind of reminds me of Jeff Allen, who was a second round pick of the Chiefs last year.

San Diego St. CB Leon McFadden was the shining star of the secondary during the practice. In the interception drill, McFadden made a nice catch above his head at one point. He was extremely physical every single play and came away with two interceptions when he anticipated throws. Pushed around Cobi Hamilton in a 1-on-1 situation to break up a pass as well.

Alabama S Robert Lester struggled throughout the practice. Played very high and couldn't change direction quickly. Was pushed around by Vance McDonald when he tried to press. Got lost in traffic on run plays.

Who we interviewed yesterday

CB- Sanders Cummings

WR- Conner Vernon

CB- Robert Alford

It appears we are looking at 4th-5th round CBs.

Vernon is also projected around 4th round.

We usually steer clear of positions we are truly interested in at the senior bowl. But of course there is a new regime in town, and I have no clue how Gettleman operates.

    • Kraven has awful shitty comic book movie vibes all over it. It's just more of whatever studio owns the rights to the Spiderman set, but no longer actually has Spiderman anymore. Wicked is probably no more enjoyable. 3 hour long musicals are tough to endure.
    • One of those guys who throws a pass that makes you yell "OMG" then immediately follows it with one that makes you go "WTF" 😳 Essentially the Brett Favre prototype...
    • The Giants games are an interesting comparison for sure. We could compare the Chiefs vs the Bucs as well, since at least both teams are largely the same as they are now, rather than the Giants whose coach lost his mind after losing to us. 30-24 KC in overtime. Hunt had 106 yards and Mahomes had 291. Baker threw for 200 yards, but 2 TDs. Their leading rusher had 25 yards or something. Our offense outperformed what the Bucs did vs KC, but being a division game we won't have the benefit of being overlooked. If our D plays how it did in the 4th quarter I think we can get some stops.  Can Bryce carry a second game? I'd rather not find out and have Chuba carry the load, but we'll see.
