Morgan Retires Again

Spicer is only starting four games, providing he beats out Anthony Hargrove.

The Saints will have good coverage back there with Porter/Greer/Jenkins/Gay. Will Smith will be healthy and lighter which is bigger than any aquisition the Saints could have made. He's a pro bowl caliber DE when he's healthy.

Carl Nicks isn't a defensive player but he was an example of a late round pick contributing.

Usama Young or Chip Vaughn could easily start over Sharper, both are young and very talented. Williams likes Vaughn because of his style.

''Don't count on anything from Vaughn & Arnoux''. you might as well have saved the time an said they sucked.

Yeah Brandon be objective about Stanley Arnoux contributing this year. He only ruptured his achilles tendon in minicamp. He just needs to put some tape on it and he's all set!

Pardon me for breaking up the fisty-cuffs fellas ...........

I'm very glad Dan is giving up playing the sport that's killing him. I wish him well.

I hope the Panthers sign him for one day and let him retire a Panther. He gave us everything.

Was very glad to hear this. I am pretty sure it wouldn't have ended well for him if he didn't stay retired. Strained calf probably means he wasn't quite in football shape yet, that's all. Maybe he trained very hard and realized that he just doesn't have it anymore.

I think most Panther fans will be glad to hear this. A lot of folks were worried that one more "bad hit" might be all it took to put Dan in a seriously bad condition.

I'd give my kingdom for a mad doctor that could perform a transplant to put Dan Morgan's brain (and heart) into the body of Julius Peppers.

(imagine the football player you'd have)

Gantt on morgan

Dan Morgan was all football player, all linebacker, a man who played every down as if it was his last. Sometimes that hastened the arrival of today's announcement. He knew one speed, one way to do his job, and it may have played a part in the premature end to his career.

The 25-tackle Super Bowl should stand as his highlight, the day he was everywhere. Those who watched and re-watched the tape say it's one of the most impressive displays they've ever witnessed.

from beason

LB Jon Beason said he was surprised to hear the news of friend Dan Morgan's retirement. He hasn't talked to his former teammate yet, but said it's sad because Morgan's actually been underappreciated, despite earning All-Pro honors earlier in his career.
