Colin Winning The SB

Kaep is in a similar position that Brady was when he took over the Patriots from Drew Bledsoe. Talented squad, top 5 defense and add the new threat that Kaep brings..gonna be tough for the Ravens to stop them.

I congratulate Harbaugh and the Niners who really made this run happen. Harbaugh knowing that this will be the long term solution to make at QB and Kaep for having the ability to put it together so quickly.

Im rooting for the Niners bc they represent innovation on offense and should be the new model of success.

Newton is already yesterdays news. It's not fair but that's how the media works. Ride the hot new story.

QFT.

When they talk about young mobile QB's they don't even mention Cam anymore. The guy that holds the record for must rushing touchdowns by a quarterback doesn't even get a brief nod. We are all homers, but he really is yesterday's news until he either has some outburst or starts lighting it up in the playoffs or prime time.

Kaepernick is on a good team that gets nationally televised regular and postseason games. If Cam has a good game, there will be literally a 27 second clip on a 90 minute Sportscenter.

Gotta have people watching to build a legacy.

The pressure wont rise, he has a good team around him. Even Alex Smith can win with that team and coach...even Alex Smith

I don't think the 9ers would have beat greenbay without Kaep's 180 yards rushing. Greenbay was moving the ball and scoring at will. Those Kaep runs really took the life out of the greenbay team. We gotta keep it real here. That team didn't make the superbowl with Alex Smith last year.

That may be, and I'm sure we'll hear stories this offseason about how the Panthers should have taken Kaep #1 overall, but seriously, if Cam and Kaepernick swapped teams the niners would still be going to the superbowl and Kaepernick would have netted us 3-5 wins this year.

Kaepernick is a good quarterback, but I think the 49ers are demonstrating with utter clarity just how important good play in the trenches is. Do you see how much time Kaep generally has in the pocket? How well sealed the holes for their runningbacks are? They have one good receiver and an inconsistent tight end and eat up yards week in week out. How anyone thinks us having another WR would do more for our offense than a good Oline is beyond me.

I feel the same way as well. I don't know if OCs are catching on to that. Without Kaep the 49ers is an average team offensively compared to the falcons. The falcons have better players on every position except QB. The 9ers don't have 2 elite WRs like Jones & White. Gonzalez is arguably the best TE of all time, although davis is faster. The RBs on either team are fairly even. And the OL is also fairly even. The difference was Kaepernick.

Behind a solid OL mobile QBs can turn an average team into a superbowl team. Pretty much the OL and the QB are what makes the 9ers. Not WRs, TE, or RB. Great WRs are useful only for immobile QBs like brady that can't pick up a first down on 4th & 4 at a crucial time.

If I were starting a team I would get me Cam and the best OL money can buy sprinkled with some average skill players and I would be a perennial superbowl contender. I'm begging that the panthers organization figure this simple thing out before everyone else does. The seahawks also already figured it out too. The redskins on the other hand got too greedy before they figured it out.

Now the scary part, can you imagine the 9ers with a bolden type receiver from the draft next year with a superbowl already under their belt. Scary thought!

Actually you don't feel the same way. You took what I wrote and spun it into some mobile-QB nut hugging bullshit. I don't even think Kaepernick is as good as Matt Ryan yet - mobility is not a part of the point. I don't understand how you could possibly think the niners and falcons have even talent at RB and Oline - and the niners sport more defensive talent at just about every single position. ESPECIALLY Oline though, right now the niners are sporting the best line in football while the falcons Oline can give 7 sacks up to even the lowly panthers.

It doesn't matter the TYPE of qb you have, as long he is effective and you win the battle in the trenches you will have a week in week out powerhouse offense.

Well, to be honest, Rivera as a defensive coach and a clueless coach in general didn't help the matter.

Think about it? Rivera allowed Chud (and was in on the decision), to run all that Read Option early in the season before the season started. If Cam would have gotten off to a great start, the media would have just picked up from last year. However, when he and the team struggled, the media moved on.

And later in the year, when Cam was play very well (post Chud adjustments), and still not getting enough credit for it. Rivera didn't realize how significant it would have been to the media, if Cam would have thrown 150+ more yards for 4000 again. But Rivera wasn't interested. I don't even think he noticed or cared. If if he did care, it would have been an afterthought.

Let's face it: wins, spectacular plays or great numbers draws the media attention from what you do on the field.

Agreed.

And do you ever notice, that anytime you watch Washington and San Fransisco play, the receivers are so frequently wide open? How often do the Panther receivers get so wide open? How many times do see Cam consistently have to throw through tight windows just to keep drives alive, compared to these guys?

Yes! The play calling and O-Line (either or) for those two teams, just puts Chud and the Panthers to shame.

Don't worry. I think Baltimore is going to win anyway.

49's for two reasons:

- I really don't want Flacco to be gifted a SB ring (Trent Dilfer)

- How awesome it would be to see Alex Smith get a ring.. as a backup!

C'mon, Flacco's been balling lately.

He deserves it. LOL.

8 TD 0 INT, and he constantly throws downfield.

I know his receivers and O-Line are excellent. But he's doing this under pressure, on the road as well.
