i'm convinced most of this team's problems have come from a combination of the pre-lockout roster purge executed by JR and the subsequent mishandling of restocking that talent by hurney. we dropped from being a team with a largely veteran identity to the league's youngest team only a handful of seasons ago and then wholly ignored supplemental free agency under hurney since then.

there are coaching problems but there has also been a lack of raw talent on this team masked almost entirely by the emergence of cam newton as a top quarterback (and keuchly on defense this year.) i think we can make the playoffs this year with a solid draft and if gettleman is worth his poo we'll hit our prime in 2-3 years where we'll have assembled our core of players that'll peak over the next half a decade after that.

Well, we played in a division where the second best team only had a 7-9 record and only got 3 wins in our division.

So maybe not as bad as that conference, but close.

The 2010 panthers went 2-2 against that division that season

That's about all you need to know about how prestigious managing a 6-10 record is in that case
