Bad Day for this falcon fan.

"Who the hell carries a knife with them to a football game?"

Translated: "What good does it do to stand in line for 30 minutes waiting to be searched before entering the stadium when some other moron can bring a knife?"

NRA response: "If the Second Amendment were being upheld and protected in this country, this stabbing would not have occurred. It would have been a shooting instead."

Couple years ago my wife and I attended a game in Atlanta, stayed at a very nice hotel near the Ritz-Carlton, ate at a couple very nice restaurants...spent the weekend and drove home Monday. Spent a couple thou in their city. The Panthers got whipped that day and the wife and I were heckled, had bottles thrown at us, cursed as we were leaving. We never spoke a word to anyone, just minding our own business. I wasn't wearing any colors, but the wife had a jersey on. Regardless, we always traveled to a couple away games every season, that was the last trip. And now look at us a few years later... we're not even traveling to Charlotte.

Boa and Lucas oil stadium (colts) are well controlled. Colts stadium has continuous security (usher types) walk down each stairwell all the way to the field, turn and face the crowd, then walk back up. Over and over. Where I have sat in boa I never saw that.

If you are attacked, like it sounds like this the 49ers fan was, then you have every right to defend yourself the best way you can. If I were attacked (without provoking the attacker) I wouldn't hesitate to pull out my knife if I felt like I were in real danger.

Yes the Falcon fan punched him. But the 49ers fan used a knife and stabbed him. The guy who did the punching will face assault charges. While the guy using the knife will face assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder. That guy with the knife will face prison time. Any where from 10+ years. That guy just screwed his own life up over a stupid game. LOL While the guy doing the punching will just get with a stab womb and 100 hours of communtiy service. People need to learn to walk away or at least fight back with your fist and not a stupid weapon. To many people out here to day are pussies. Got to grab a knife becaue they can't take an ass kicking. LOL

Well that's not how the law works at all. Essentially the man who used a knife acted in self defense, and will very likely not face any charges.

Of course, there are scenarios where this wouldn't be the case. If the Falcons fan punched him and had then turned and walked away before the 49ers fan chased him down to stab him - then the guy might face some charges. But if it was an act and react type situation, then it's self defense.
