Look for a true blocking FB to be picked up...

What would be nice and a different perspective on this entire subject would be if you have talked to any of the Offensive and or defensive players about this hire. We all know that you are the closest to the team here... I'm not asking you to name drop, simply asking for a quote or two that may have been shared with you since the hire.

What you don't understand is that aside from Cam, Jimmy, or Derek, no one on the team has any idea how he will be. They don't get coached by him, they don't talk to him. They are as in the dark as the rest of us.

It would be like an employee commenting on the promotion of a manager in another department.

Yeah yeah yeah, lets turn off salary cap and injuries and turn on edit player mode and switch Tolbert to running back and trade Williams and then buy Bowe and win the Super Bowl on All Pro.

Madden, NFL, 2013.

#1, Tolbert isn't a FB, we found that out the hard way

#2, Why not trade Williams? We have way too much money committed to runningbacks we barely use. Hurney is gone, it's time to make changes.

#3, We need a WR.

#4, You're a dumbass.

TOTALLY different positions.

FS - SS

ROLB - MLB - LOLB

UT - NT

OT - OG

All different positions.

Yes, a half back is a totally different position than a full back.

But they are both considered types of running backs.

I like how you seem to be the resident Shula expert... Just because you lived in Tampa at the time he was an OC down there OVER 10 YEARS AGO. It's almost as if you believe that you were the only one that watched football during that time period. We don't need a FB. Only way in hell we get a FB is if DeAngelo and or Tolbert aren't on this roster.

It would be nice to get more anonymous quotes from you about how the players feel about a lot of things. I know that you are friends with quite a few... Again if you could share some things on occasion without name dropping that would be awesome! I think that ALL of the people that help this site continue to be such a huge success for you wold agree with me.

Hey Zod, I'm going to insult you and then ask you for some favors. Cool?

No, I do actually completely understand that both sides of the ball are for the most part segregated... I get that. I also know (at least from what you've posted on here) it seems that you speak with defensive players more often than the O side... So it makes sense what you're saying. Contrary to the public opinion around here about me I'm actually pretty savvy. I was just wondering what if anything you'd heard. Good/bad/indifferent. In no way would I expect for Beason for example to really be able to discern what type of OC he would be... Just wondering if you had heard anything. I do appreciate the response though

#1 - Tolbert is a fullback. He blocks well when he's asked too and we aren't running the read option in which he's on the side line. He's great for short yardage and even screen passes out of the back field or lines up at TE. Bet you didn't even realize that though.

2. You can restructure contracts. Once again this is not madden, I know that's where you learned football from but you can actually restructure contracts to save money. I know, amazing. Williams is a great running back and teammate. He was utilized poorly but with Skipper returning and Shula takin over, we should be seeing more Dwill/Stewart.

3. We can draft a receiver. Hurney ain't around anymore so we can finally bring a guy in that can play with one of our first couple of picks.

4. If you aren't banned for name calling like I was, then this forum is an even bigger joke than you.

Adding to what you posted-

#1- you're spot on, also lines up at the slot WR position as well

#2- again correct. I think it's highly probable that the Skipper hire is gonna save any RB from being let go. I think they both restructure and return to their way of 2008.

#3- I have a feeling that Gettleman will make a splash in FA at this position. WR position isn't very deep this year, we already have a lot of young talent here... I think it would be a mistake to draft a WR in this years draft.

#4- again I agree, but don't hold your breathe

Just because he played FB for the first time in his career doesn't mean he's a true FB all of a sudden. We had the worst YPC average that we've had in several years, so i wouldn't say he blocked WELL. Yes, he is a big weapon on offense and i hope we keep him but he is far from a good blocker.

Sure, we can restructure, but i highly doubt Dwill is going to take the kind of money an average RB deserves. Runningbacks are a dime a dozen. We could fill his role with someone much cheaper. Why not spend that money on positions we actually need.

We can draft a receiver right after DT, safety, CB, and OL. Find me a day 1 starting WR in the 6th.

And I'm sure you are the exception for name calling. Is there anyone in this forum you haven't argued with?

This will be fun....

We had a bad YPC this season because of the read option, and a makeshift O-line due to numerous injuries... Tolbert RARELY lined up at FB as a lead blocker... Our RB's weren't even allowed to run downhill UNTIL Stew went down... So first off know what you're saying before you say it. You make it sound like Tolbert can't block anybody, when in fact he was rarely given the opportunity to do so. It's not like we ran outta the power I formation dude. We ran plays with Cam in the Gun with a RB beside him... Surprise read option

You want a starting WR to be drafted in the 6th???? LOL LOL

It happens but it's like winning the lottery.

RB's aren't a dime a dozen... Ask any team that didn't have one this year... Arizona, GB.... Especially of DeAngelo's caliber. He's a special talent

You don't know much about football do you?
