The argument is always the same...

A number of people do not like a decision by the front office, and here come the unpaid, unattractive, fully clothed cheerleaders to tell us that our opinion must be sh!t because we don't sit in on coaches meetings. That is a lazy and trite argument.

Many of us watch the NFL religiously and have done so over many years. Many of us put actual thought into what typically makes organizations successful. We can form legitimate opinions based on those observations. We don't have to sit in on meetings. Do you need to be intimately familiar with the science behind the human brain or sit in on operations to be able to make an educated choice should you need a brain surgeon? Or do you do your research, talk to other people, look at their accomplishments and accolades, and make the best informed decision you can?

TCF, you have your opinion. It is no more worthy because you choose to accept and laud each and every decision the Panthers make. Others think differently. So stop this crap about how we should gtfo, or follow some other team, or whatever other current bs your spouting. Just fuging stop.

Promoting Shula was the right decision. There is no reason to change the game plan based on the last 6 games. Hiring someone else would have done that possibly.. This offense achieved offensive balance where they were capable of running the ball 30+ times and throwing the ball 30+ times. Absolutely no need to mess with that.

this is the last time i will really talk about the Shula hire. I looke at it this way; Interns (Shula) of a company (Panthers) are more prepared than new Hires (Jackson, Shurmur) to do their job right off the bat. Rivera has one year, he knows this, and this is his last chance. I think Shula will be good.

I can say that Rayzor is typically a glass half full guy when it comes to the panthers. He was with them up last season until around the seahawks game.

With that said, even he sees through this bullshit. Every year its the same old panthers. If things go south early this fall (like a 1-4 start), I'll be spending my sundays doing something else, not watching rivera bumble around with his high school coaching staff. spend time with friends or something (because they sure as fug do not want to spend hours watching the Panthers)

It's funny, my "same old panthers" attitude usually doesn't kick in until the preseason. Now it starts 20 days after the last game. Oh well, its just football.

working well with cam is great, but that just qualifies him to be cam's QB coach. what makes him qualified to run an offense? what had anyone seen that says he'd be good at it. being good at one job doesn't make you good at every job.

Agreed I hope Rivera was right on this one. I am not qualified to judge but thought Rivera would have been better off with a more accomplished OC.

No excuses if the offense sputters...we will need to be putting up close to 30 points per game to be relevant unless we spend money we do not have on defense.

I'm totally on board with the internal promotions of Shula and Proehl.

I think that this Franchise has turned a corner today. It seems as though this place is still split with the "we wanted Rivera gone" crew and the "We wanted Rivera to stay" crew.

Some don't like the fact that we have promoted Shula to OC, but I think that was probably the best hire of the entire offseason thus far. Hopefully I'm wrong and Gettleman turns out to be an even better hire than we all have imagined he would be.

Very excited about the return of Jim Skipper!!! If he thought he had an awesome backfield during his last tenure here, then he must be foaming at the mouth this time with Double Trouble still in tact, and the addition of FB/RB Mike Tolbert.

I don't know how anybody isn't excited by the news today, but they are out there... People here seem to think that Big Names and success are synonymous when in fact, it's the furthest from the truth. Big names don't mean instant success. In order for you to get a big name, you have to start somewhere.

We have all of the pieces in place now... From this point fwd it's on Gettleman and company to unscrew our current cap conundrum and prepare for the draft. No one knows what will come of some of our players but rest assured there will be highly volatile debates about every single player that comes and or goes from this point fwd.

Today is a GREAT day to be a Panthers fan!!!

Name another offensive coach out there that has spent the last two seasons working with our franchise QB in the same playbook, and has spent every single week communicating this offense to him and explaining the whys and hows of it from top to bottom.

You can be the best QB coach in the world but if you don't know how to call a game its all for not. Just ask the Saints last year. Big difference between Payton and his QB Coach.
