Unfortunately saying we've make great strides in race relations while referring to a Pakastani American as "Arab" doesn't come close to being the most ironically ignorant post in this thread.

thanks for the correction my fault. but you understand what i was trying to say.

and to the guy that says lovie didnt protect cutler...isnt it the gm job to draft superstar oline men not the coaches??

so how could you pin that on lovie

Body proportion and height is a completely different thing. The pygmys who live in deep forest area that average about 4'5" in height also have tropical body proportion. Meaning their legs are disproportionately longer than their torso. Have you ever heard the term that black people have a lower sitting height than other non-Africans?

Honestly where are you getting this from?

People of African decent tend to have a higher risk of miscarriages since their torso is shorter than other non-Africans their birth canal are shorter so it becomes difficulty to give birth to large babies.

No evidence to support you claim, however...

Also, African-Americans originate in western Africa(Ivory Coast region). They're the same people you see in the NFL/NBA/Soccer/etc. They don't average no damn 5'7. But I do agree that the Dinka of South Sudan and other tribes in the horn of africa do tend to be tall.

Yes the Ivory Coast was a major hub port for the African Slave Trade. However, only a small portion of the men and women sold into slavery were actually from the coastal region. The majority of people sold into slavery were captured closer to the central regions of Africa. The slave traders could not get into Africa in sufficient numbers to take over militaristically by using the coast and they could not do so across the desert. So, missionaries began to spread and interact with local tribes teaching them European languages. Afterwords, technologies such as guns were introduced to certain ethnic groups that were receptive to trading with the Europeans. Through encouragement, bribery and trade, they began to draw lines of division among the different ethnic groups, sparking wars and breeding hate amongst groups that had lived together peacefully for centuries. The losers, regardless of any previous trade agreement with the Europeans were often sold into slavery. This lack of concern for previous ties or treaties meant that many different ethnic groups in Africa became slaves. The remaining Africans lost many of the original geographic boundaries that separated them from each other, making the subsequent colonization from Europe possible.

This is how the history of the slave trade is taught throughout Europe and Africa and most of the developed countries I have been to.

How come we passed over a far more qualified black man for the OC position? JRs southern roots exposing themselves?

We have a minority HC....

Rivera just has the late Fox handicap. No new coaches are not going to get multi year deals. Therefore, Shula was the obvious call.

It boils down to three things;

1. Communication -- Ever notice the Head Coach and the GM in the same room during the Draft? He should be screaming for Oline help. It was obviously a terrible part of that team. They drafted 3 O lineman the past 4 years. No O-line in this past draft. Zero.

2. Coaching -- Lovie hired tim holt at the beginning of 2012, an assistant offensive line coach for the Bucs, the year they had that HORRID offensive line in 2011.

I remember reports coming out where Lovie stated he thought the offensive line was fine for 2012. Which is why they didn't draft any lineman for the 2012 team. I remember Cutler being very upset about this. Considering he was injured in that Championship game.

hmm. so we have race and genetic experts here as well as first class adviosrs towards hiring talent at a professional level?

so many things factor into hiring/not hiring. some teams go the safest route possible depending on the previous coach and losing seasons they may have had.

if next year there are 8 openings and all of them are minorities, it doesn't mean the NFL has become the bastion of race relations. it means in the context of that hiring time, the person who was the best fit for the future, was hired. nothing more.

so much time and energy could be saved and utilized elsewhere. the bottom line, you don't really fully know anything about anothers race and to even remotely think you do is foolhardy.

but find the common ground of getting the job done or meeting a goal, with others that look dif than you, is the ultimate way of moving forward.

The simple answer to that question is there is far more genetic diversity in Africa than in the rest of the world. All humans outside of Africa descend from groups that migrated from Africa This basically means that Any and all alleles that cause any and every physical trait is present in Africa somewhere. (dont confuse that with me saying that every African has every trait) Since not every group migrated out of Africa, not every physical trait exhibited by Africans will be seen outside of Africa. If you go to Africa you will see EVERY physical characteristic displayed outside of Africa some where within. This includes things like, straight hair, large pointed noses, or even the epicanthic fold of Asians. We tend to only notice differences when we look at other people. This probably has something to do with our human propensity to judge facial beauty. Take a second and compare as many people of differing skin colors to each other taking the time to identify similarities. I think you would be surprised.

Often times people confuse differing physical traits with evolution. Humans have not evolved physically in over a hundred thousand years. Our physical differences are minor variations of physical characteristics that have been unchanged for 10's of thousands of years.

Any more of this eugenics bullshit and this thread is getting locked and possibly burned.

Since you are a mod, I want to ask whether or not your comment about eugenics was pointed towards me. I have taken great care to formulate my comments in the most logical, unoffensive and truthful way possible. All while taking the most recent anthropoligical data into account. I dont think it was targeted at me but I was the last one to post before you commented and I dont want to get banned.

Well, if your assumption is that western africans are different than central Africans you're wrong. There is no difference between an congolese and a Nigerian/Ghanaian/etc. As far as your informations about slavery, I am not disputing that. Which proves my point, since the slaves came from a diverse part of Africa they mostly share similar height no matter what region. If I line up a group of central Africans and western Africans in front of you I don't think you can tell by just looking at them. Thus they all share similar height and characteristics. I live in NYC there are Africans of all types, trust me, they're not short 5'7 people. In fact they're on the taller side. Other than the pygmys, there aren't any African tribes that can be classified as shorter than the average American.

As far as having short torso creating a higher chance of miscarriage, well your OB/GYN doctor can tell you that. It's not a pandemic so it's not talked about all the time.

Really? Please tell me how John Fox, Andy Reid, get jobs after DISASTROUS seasons, but Lovie Smith wins ten games and gets fired with no serious interest?

John Fox was hired two years ago, it had no bearing on the hirings this month.

If you are curious as to why Andy Reid got a job, just look at his entire body of work in Philadelphia. If he wanted to coach this year then he was getting a job, no question.

Honestly, I was surprised Lovie was fired int he first place, and I probably would have interviewed him. I also believe he is the best example on this issue this year, but I do not believe your use of Fox and Reid in your argument was a good choice.

Stop. Save your speeches about African genetics and Gypsy sterilization for your family and friends.

Completely agree. Might I add, an evolution is the birth of a new species. And nature doesn't ugrade or downgrade. If nature see fit it will apply enough environmental pressure to a homosapiens transforming the body to that of a snake with human head.

So, one can't 'enjoy' being bipedal and reproducing with other 'race' while claiming to be evolved. Lol
