OK, so if no heir to Smitty is in our draft plans, or in the draft at all, then FA is critical

it's ridiculous to think that we wouldn't be much better with a true WR thread across from smitty....and to have someone here before he really does retire.

what's our plan B? how many who saw that turd thread yesterday saying that smitty had retired believed it was really happening? i know i did for a brief moment. we all know it's happening and then what are we left with? lafell, murphy, and gettis? sorry if i don't stand in awe of that WR corps.

it has to be addressed and i mean seriously. none of those teams in the final 4 get there without their killer receiving corps. besides smitty we have average at best....and don't give me that gettis superstar crap.

we need to either address it early in the draft, in FA, or via trade....but no way do we go into next year without having another stud WR brought in.

I still see nobody want to anwser this question.

How many games did we lose Because of our sub Par wr's?

that's not the point.

until we seriously address it, we'll be stuck. we need better than smitty and meh....esp. if smitty gets hurt again and misses the season or retires.

we have to have balance. we don't have it. we are heavily weighted on the run side of things and that is always going to hold us back until we balance it out with a better WR corps.

again, i'm just glad to have someone in the FO that appreciates it AND has a clue about how to spot talent there.

who is saying anything about our WRs losing games for us?

quit being so pissy. you're arguing something that no one else is arguing about.

it's about bringing balance to the team and recognizing that aside from smitty we've got jack at WR and that needs to be fixed for the offense to get taken to the next level and to make this team more of a complete threat.

We have tried to address it. We have 5-6 wr on the roster now under the age of 25.

Then add into the fact that not 1 wr in this draft is considered a sure fire number 1 wr.

You can't even say with any confidence that if we draft a wr early (in this draft). That they would beat out (in a fair TC competition) Lafell, Gettis, or Murphy.

And i totally disagree with you. I think with a better O-line and a OC that's not looking for a HC job more then he is trying better the team. We go to the next level.

I think we have the weapons now to be a top 5 offense with the right play caller and game plan.

Why is that impossible to answer?

I can name 3 games where Chud cost us.

I can name 2-3 on the O-line.

I can even put 2 Games on the secondary.

Why can't you tell me what games these Sub Par wr cost us?

Because I could make an argument that every game we lost we might have won if we had a great WR and Smith/Olsen on the field at the same time. Do I believe we would have won them all? No. But putting a number on it is impossible.

You can't look at any 1 specific potential player and know exactly what their impact on the team would be.

So you're dealing in fantasy when I ask for facts.

I can easily say that Chud cost us the 1st game against the Bucs. With his trick plays and unwillingness to stop using the read option. When it was clear that it wasn't going to work against a college coach who had time to plan for it. He got us in to many 3rd and long plays and never got ahead of the chains. He abandon the run game way to early and used to many vertical pass plays when the O-line was getting eaten up.

This is why I place Blame on Chud for losing this game.

You see how easy that was and I didn't have to use if this player or that player was here stuff.

I think our scrappy oline is the reason why we lost games. I can remember at least 3 times a game as soon as the ball was in cams hands it was like jot potato. He went down immediately, other times as soon as he got through his first progression he got blindsided.

Cam has had to play with his head on a swivel. I also seen many times lafell was open but cam didn't have time. Other times I've seen lafell getting double teamed. Why was lafell getting double teamed if he's crap.?

yeah...i'm not going to even bother further with that conversation.

Ok take Murphy out (even thoe he has a year in the system and did make some catches for us).

What Wr from this years draft are you confident. Will beat out Lafell and from day one replace Smith if he gets hurt?

Now Again I must mention that NO draft Analyst has said that any of the 2013 draft wr equal up to AJ Green Or Julio Jones. So you're not getting that kind of WR this year.
