C'mon, you guys know that this franchise never does anything quickly and when they do they rarely get the decision right. Its gonna take time...

THEY gotta smack it up, flip it and rub it down before WE say OH NOOOOOOO! Damn Pat Shurmer, that guy is Poison... lol!

(A lil BBD reference for all you old heads, you young bucks wont understand)

Serious question - why the rush to hire someone ?

I think it's important to have the OC's input on draft picks (especially the mid to late rounds). Not just what the guy has done on the field, but to evaluate his personality as well. You need to be in attendance for these show games like the Senior Bowl, East West Shrine, etc.

Also current player evaluations are important as well for the obvious cap reasons. The issue of DWill and JStew come immediately to mind. The new OC will have some say in that decision.

Finally, the new OC could also help attract quality position coaches that have a relationship with him and not Ron. The longer all this goes on, the thinner the talent pool is..

So, yea. I'd like it to be sooner than later simply because I'm impatient as well..

I have to think this has something to do with Norv. It's been a week since chud was hired by the Browns, if Norv was a lock to follow him there like many reported I think it should have happened already. I think Ron and Dave are trying to lure him here.

It's purely speculative, but it's a legitimate possibility.

I've pondered that option too.

I'm hearing they balked at your request to be put in charge of the cheerleader tryouts (sorry).

Fans of Whisenhunt may have reason to be happy. Denver named their new OC. It ain't him.

That said, if Bruce Arians gets the Cardinal job, he could conceivably ask Whisenhunt to tag along.

(would be awfully awkward though).

Denver just promoted their QB coach to OC. That could possibly mean we take a harder look at Whisenhunt(sp?)

Possibly.

Any interest on the Panthers part is still just speculation at this point. There's been no word that they've actually reached out to him.

And as someone else pointed out, he's still getting paid this season so he doesn't really have to take a lesser job if he doesn't want to.

Agreed, the only mention of him i've seen has been through Joe Person. But it seems logical to want to AT LEAST interview him, right? Who knows what Gettleman and Coaches are thinking about this hire.....

If you were Ron Rivera, would you want to put a guy that people are speculating could take your job on staff?

You might say Gettleman could, but coaches are generally allowed to have control over who's on their staff. And Gettleman seems inclined to want a good working relationship with Rivera, which makes me think he won't want to put him under the additional pressure having Whisenhunt around would bring.

Yeah, it could happen. I'm just skeptical.
