Manti Te'o lied about his Girlfriend dying

And yet still there are no death records, hospital records, enrollment records at Stanford, records of a serious car accident, etc. etc.

I mean, if what these guys are saying is true, that she exists/existed, how come there are NO official records of her existence?

Well, (& for the record I don't think this is what happened in this case) if she were a model/actress/singer/etc... its quite possible that Lennay whateverdafug was just her working name.

I don't think he's draftable, not with a story like this attached to him. Got my doubts he could evn be picked up as an undrafted free agent.

I mean seriously, can you imagine putting him in your locker room?

Not a chance in hell he goes undrafted... Not a chance...

Oh, I think it's possible.

Like I said before, in order to draft him, you have to believe that he's such a phenomenal player and that he brings so much value to your team that he's worth the scrutiny, the stigma, the insanity and the distraction that having him around will inevitably bring to your locker room.

Is he really that good a player? I'm skeptical.

If he's drafted, it won't be by any team that factors character into their draft board. It'll likely have to be a team with a "who gives a s--t" attitude like the Jets. That locker room is already a circus anyway. What's one more elephant act?

So yeah, he may not get passed over entirely, but I'd be willing to bet a fair number of teams will take him completely off their draft boards.

Totally agree....not a chance. In fact there are defintely teams out there that will not even move him down in their rankings regardless of what the real story is. Some teams may take him off their boards but it certainly won't be the majority.

He's gay. Manti and Roniah were lovers. He probably came up with the fake girlfriend story to get some suspicious people off his back asking him why he didn't have a girlfriend. Making up the "out of town girlfriend" is one of the oldest tricks in the book for a gay guy staying in the closet. All those phone calls might have been to Roniah while he was recovering from his car crash. This story was cover so he could make a run at the Heisman. He didn't win, now the story is out, and so is Manti.

It's the only explanation that makes sense. There's absolutely no way he couldn't be in on it based on the evidence.

Bill Polian is an idiot.

He just said if Manti was the victim, that this has nothing to do with his judgement and shouldn't hurt his draft stock.

How does this not say anything about his judgement? haha

I'd agree.

His story has too many holes (the whole receiving a letter from her weeks after she died thing, among others).

Plus you know teams are going to grill him mercilessly at Combine interviews. He's already shown he's not exactly the world's most accomplished liar. And if he tells a blatant lie in one of those interviews, there's a pretty good chance the press will get hold of it.

While I don't think he'll get undrafted...he may fall quite a bit. There's going to be some team out there that needs a MLB and would be happy to overlook his personal issues to utilize his talents. It will definitely be a team with a weak FO, terrible defense, and willing to absorb his baggage. Jets certainly fit the MO of a circus but I don't think they need a MLB. Raiders might be an interesting spot for him, especially their issue with Rolando McClain.

Without a doubt, Alec Ogletree has shot up the MLB board, though. Te'o will fall...
