Did Gettleman drop any hints about the draft at his press conference?

This early, there are no hints to drop.

You can glean some general info about his philosophy, but we're a long way from having a draft board.

Yea I think he was referring to his philosophic views versus his draft preference for this year. That could indeed turn in to one in the same but I would think we need to get a feel who on the team goes and who stays from a cap perspective.

Cam holds onto the ball too long. He needs to learn to throw it away more. That is one of the reasons he gets hit so much in addition to needing an o line up grade.

U clearly haven't been watching the play- offs. Talk about QBs holding unto the ball to long.

And, maybe there is a direct correlation between receivers not getting open fast enough and holding the ball to long as u put it.

Dion Jordan in the first, Oline in the second. If he follows the Giants philosophy. You can never have enough pass rushers. And before any of you say hes a 3-4 olb, many have said with a little added weight he could be a beast of a 4-3 defensive end. And I agree.

Yes with many other glaring holes that need to be fixed we can afford a luxury Pick at DE especially when he wouldn't even start as we already have very solid depth with Johnson Hardy and Alexander.

Let's see the Giants have drafted 15 D-linman players since 2003. Let me repeat that 15 D LINEMAN SINCE 2003. Jason Pierre Paul was a "luxury pick" in 2010. Wow they won the superbowl. Hardy is in contract year next year. How do you think the Giants were so successful. You continuosly draft dline and oline. "Big men allow you to compete."

And I'm sure we'll let Hardy walk.

And mind you the Giants when they took JPP, and even now, have less holes to fill than us. So they can stock up on positions they're already good at.

And even more fun fact that in the same scope of 2003-2012 draft the Giants have taken in the first 3 rounds

7 DBs

8 DL

and 7 WRs

And how many of those DLmen were first rounders? 3. And only one of them (JPP) made it to the pro bowl.

I actually think it is possible we let Hardy walk. We might not be able to pay him what he wants with our cap situation. And please don't bring up the pro-bowl. It's a popularity contest. I'm a firm believer that the 4 people up front make everyone better. Just as a good Oline makes everyone better.

from 2003-2012 the panther have taken in the first 3 rounds

6 DL (3 of which were recently fua,McClain and Everett Brown) some of the worst players panthers have selected.

2DBs

5LBs

And i'm really not seeing the holes many people are seeing...Minus Safety and a NT i think were in good shape. 1 year contract for NT. Depth at corner we can get in later rounds. And i wouldn't want to draft a corner with our first pick. And there is no safety worthy of the 14th pick. We saw how serviceable our secondary played when we got pressure on the QB. Defensive Tackle? maybe. I dont think any Defensive Tackles besides Star and possibly Jesse Williams are as talented as this guy. With drafting Dion we could see Hardy pushed to the inside (on some plays, where he was Very effective) with Dion outside. The guy is versatile. He would be perfect for wierd blitzing packages on 3rd downs. For me and boils down to who is the most talented at our pick, and you can always beef up you're D-LIne.

All i'm saying is that our D-line came alive this year...and i don't think it was a coincidence that we were a top 10 defense. But agree to disagree.
