Did Gettleman drop any hints about the draft at his press conference?

I think Gettleman's comments regarding "having big men...to protect the QB" leads us to believe there will be an O-Lineman drafted in the first round. And I think that's a fantastic idea. With a QB like Cam Newton in place, you can win games just by protecting him.

The stats don't really reflect how much Cam was under pressure this season because of his ability to elude the rush. Cam was hit 67 times and sacked 36 times. There really isn't a statistic to show how many times Cam ESCAPED the rush, so those numbers should be much higher. Compare those numbers to Arizona, who had a combined 97 hits and 58 sacks on their QB's. (source: nfl.com stats)

I have a strong feeling that the 1st round draft choice in 2013 will be offensive line, based on Gettleman's comments.

Nothing I heard said they were going to draft an O linemen versus find one in free agency or go another direction. In fact when discussing the cap situation which will have to be addressed much earlier than the draft, he said it was too soon to say anything and he had lots of work to do.

It is ridiculous then to assume that he will be in a position to even be looking at the draft at this point or be dropping hints on who is going to available at 14. People who want one player or the other will always look to find a glimmer to support what they want to happen. Good way to be set up for disappointment down the road.

Cam holds onto the ball too long. He needs to learn to throw it away more. That is one of the reasons he gets hit so much in addition to needing an o line up grade.

Well I think one of the things the Giants did very well was put together a very good (deep too) oline with very little blue chip talent. They were smart about bringing in free agents that could hold their own and play while not requiring superstar money.

I don't think we'll necessarily go Oline in the first round, but it will be our top priority this offseason whether that means beefing up in the draft, free agency, getting guys off the waiver wire or off other team's practice squads.

he hasn't even had a chance to look at the roster.

no hints. nothing to know. lot's of stuff is going to happen before draft day.

any mocks that are done, esp. at this point in time, are ridiculous.

we don't know what he sees or doesn't see on this roster. we don't know what moves he's going to make prior to the draft. we don't know his tendencies. we know essentially nothing, which is barely more than he knows at this point in time.

Picking at 14 doesn't give us any idea that he will go OL. There may not be one left that has enough value.

yep. at that point you just take BPA and be glad about it because those guys who drafted for need will have left some top talent on the table.

gettleman appears to me to be an opportunist. you take advantage of what narrow-minded people ahead of you leaves behind and walk away with more value and talent.

I don't think Warmack will be available at #14, I'm starting to get the feeling he wont fall past Tennessee at #10. Before you go on about Hutchinson going #17 rada rada, look at the history of Bud Adams drafting guards. Bruce Matthews in 1983 went #9 and Mike Munchak went #8 in 1982. Yes, that's ancient history, but doesn't it just seem like the perfect storm of hype and need?

Who's the head coach? Mike Munchak

What's arguably their biggest area of need? Guard, opening up holes for that guy Chris Johnson they gave a big contract to.

Warmack sucks? Everyone has their opinion.

his pocket awareness and decision making was much faster and more refined over the second half of the season. you can forget about that as a major problem moving forward.
