Nice sentiment...

I didn't even look at the link. I remember painfully. I remember sitting in front of the tv and crying while he said that because I felt exactly like he did. I think of it every season since, when I see the team reaching down for the extra push whether they win or lose. It's the effort I'm proud to see. And I wonder where the hell that feeling is when they don't reach for that extra push because I still have that terrible feeling and I expect them to also, even the rookies. Sometimes as a fan I feel so helpless. :o

Jake will always have a special place in the minds of us who have been around before 2003....

nothing wrong if you have been a fan since then, but knowing what we were before 2003 delivers a different persepective..

So true.

I'm 100% behind this team no matter what. No. Matter. What.

I agree with AK and GRW.

It seems that a few folks forgot what it was like in the pre-Delhomme era. He is such a competitor and always looks to improve his game. I support whatever the FO does whether I agree with it or not.

Are there any links to the Bojangles commercials?

We don't get to see them out here in Cali...

I completely and totally agree.

I may fuss and whine and complain when Jake throws a stupid interception, but if we're close in the fourth quarter, I don't want anyone else in there. *shrug*

I like the guy.

Um if the QB succeeds the Team succeeds.

Supporting him to play well = team success.

makes sense to me....

The coaching staff has kept Delhomme our starting QB... Therefore, I hope he does extremely well.

Name the weakest link on the team.

When not properly motivated, Julius Peppers.

If he's playing strong, the weakest link becomes the CB's. Gamble strives but Lucas was fading and Marshall still seems a little unsure of himself. Being named the starter should give him a boost of confidence that will help him play to his ability.

All that said, Jake is hardly the weakest player on this team, and doesn't even qualify as one of the weakest players in the league. Easily in the top half of the starters in terms of playing ability and in terms of leadership ability I'd put him in the top five.
