I really like Warmack if available. While OG isn't perceived as a sexy pick it fits our personnel the best. We have tons of money tied up in our running back and a franchise Quarterback. If we can pass protect up the middle and gash teams with our run game we will be so dangerous. The talent that we have at running back should allow us to have a top 5 rushing attack. A dangerous running game should open up things for Cam via play action or even a small percentage of read option pass plays.

I want a DT too but think we can get a good NT in the second round.

Gotta see what we do in free agency - since we might now actually do something - first.

(which also depends on what the team does as far as cap management)

My feeling we will lose a big name to the cap.My guess is either Gross or Gamble.I think it will depend on who we restructure and who we will have to let go.My guess is that it will easier to find a wr in fa unless they grade one of these guys higher than I do. My guess now would be OL to sure up our running game

I honestly believe this team should lead the NFL in rushing. OG play and lack of attempts are the only reason they didn't last year.

To put the points up to win in this league we need to be able to dictate run or pass.

I hope Gettleman helps the organization grow up. No hope for the fan base however who generally wants the slickest, fastest, most hyped WR and never the trench guys.

It does no good having a slick WR when your QB is constantly on his back. On the other hand, a mediocre WR can be made great when the QB has time to look things over and wait on a guy to break open.

NYG has always valued both lines and that is where my hope is with Gettleman. Heck, if you had a great line, maybe even the read option would have worked, not that I am in favor of it. Trenches baby, trenches.

I agree. I think we need to accept the fact that our team will lose in FA this season, but the moves will be necessary to heal an ailing franchise. Hard to believe any big name targets will be brought in. Mostly camp fodder and competition to push current starters.

i have a feeling that gettleman's first pick is going to bring about a lot of bitching from people who consider the various draftniks' big boards as gospel.

gettleman > kiper, mayock, mcshay, rang, wright, and walter

Agreed. Vacarro (S, Texas) for instance. He can play in the box or in coverage. Would fill a huge need, giving us a QB for the secondary and a good, versatile player. We have a huge hole there and nobody is mentioning him. Rumor has it that last season, we were looking at Barron before Tampa Bay stole him. I think Kuechly made us forget Barron, but Barron was the bigger need (at the time).

Banks (CB, Miss St) is another possible player. We have two very good QBs in this division. Norman and Thomas will not scare them. Gamble is gone (contract) and Munnerlyn will be tough to re-sign (cap). Gettlemen may see how Marty thought that CBs are found on Day 3. Remember that the Giants just drafted a CB overall (Amakamora) and need another.

I disagree with any team that says they take the best player available regardless of need. With the cap, that is not possible. However, to think we will draft our biggest needs early and our lesser needs later is not good business. Kuechly, for instance, was not considered a huge need. What player drafted before him would you take for him now?

you do realize that Gettleman comes from an organization that have spent muitple picks on the slickest WR right?even last draft spent a 2nd rounder on a WR with Nicks and Cruz on the roster.Gettleman will build the trenches but he will also bring in waepons on the outside for our young QB.

It's just too early to say anything definitive at the moment. Have to see what goes on in FA first, as well as workouts and the Combine. On the surface, it appears like if a boss DT is available, then that's the way to go, but the same could probably said for WR (or any position, really).
