Toub likely joining Chiefs

Toub is expected to join Andy Reid’s staff with the Kansas City Chiefs but no announcement has been made and Toub could not be reached for comment. Toub’s contract with the Bears ran through 2013 but general manager Phil Emery granted him permission to interview with the Chiefs and Carolina Panthers. It is believed Emery did so because Toub didn’t want to be in a difficult position working for a head coach he competed against for the job.

Reid gave Toub his first job in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2001 and the two worked prior to that at Missouri and UTEP, making a reunion a natural fit. It is believed Toub also had an offer from Ron Rivera and the Panthers.

It's Rivera fault that he didn't ask for more money.

Panthers should try to use some of the 125M that they are asking for to pay this man.

Kevin O'Dea was Toub's most recent assistant on ST and has been an ST coach elsewhere. Still under contract with the Bears though.

There's also Bobby April, long time guy most recently with the Eagles. Has been around for a while.

Reid is the guy who gave Toub his first NFL job, I wouldn't underestimate that.

(but I'll grant Rivera's situation probably doesn't help)
