Gettleman Press Conference?

Kurb is on his period. He was waiting for Gettleman to diagram his 5-year plan month by month and let the world know just who they want to target, sign, and draft.

No, there wasn't anything earth shattering nor should there have been. Draft well, fill in the pieces with FAs...like 98% of other clubs. He also said he'd give people a chance to do their jobs successfully with the right tools. That doesn't translate to they get a free pass or there won't ever be any changes. I'd suspect they'll actually increase the personnel size in the next 6 months as they should, to get on par with most other teams in the league. He said he'd give the current employees the opportunity to do their jobs, not that they wouldn't augment them with other people as well.

Draft well. No free agents of note. Same ole poo.

He isn't even adding new blood to personnel department.

Same poo.

Not what he said.

He pointed out that building from the draft is best but said you fill holes with free agency. Also said that getting into big name guys is "tricky" but then said he and the pro guys at the Giants "never missed" which tells me he's gonna do his homework before signing a guy.

As far as the personnel people, he said he's not just gonna come in and kick everybody out and bring in his guys. He wants to work with the people here and get to know them. After that, if he needs to make changes he'll know whom and where.
