Derek Anderson wants to go back to Cleveland

As a backup without a contract, I would expect he would be happy to play anywhere. Obviously he thinks that he might be able to rekindle some magic with Cleveland. It was the only time in his career that he had much success. Can't blame him.

Personally, I think we need a veteran backup qb and some developmental QB on the PS. I do not see Clausen's roster spot doing us any good.

i will say the browns could do substantially worse than starting anderson with chudzinski calling the offense.

I agree he should make the move. He'll be back with Chud and with a RB that could take pressure off of him much like Jamal Lewis did in 2007. Though, I thought he was a little bitter with Cleveland when he left. Those fans can be some of the worst in the league.

IMO, we have too may needs and not enough draft picks to invest one in a QB this year. I am sure they will try out some UDFAs and likely bring in a veteran journeyman if Anderson goes elsewhere.

Another bit of weirdness in Cleveland.

PFT reports George Paton is out of their GM derby but it's unclear why. Paton was reported to have been interviewing with us last week but that never happened either. Again, unknown as to why.

Florio rightly points out that whoever takes that job has to share personnel control with a first time head coach who has no experience in that area. Gotta admit, that might scare me off.
