I Have Less Faith In Rivera After Today

this is the time of the year where fans of teams NOT in the playoffs can only talk about the obvious. which in the panthers case is that El Fox has to go to the playoffs next year. he can't win 8,9 or 10 games and not make it. he has to do it.

I despise fans talking about coaches. Despise, despise, despise the ignorance that comes out of the mouths of neophytes.

- Harbaugh gets credit for winning with a super-talented team built by a good GM.

- Harbaugh gets credit for game management skills, despite not calling the plays and being entirely unaware that games could end in a tie

- Harbaugh gets credit for schematic intelligence, despite running possibly the simplest schemes in the NFL. They're successful simply because he has mismatches in talent everywhere. Or does no one else find it strange that Kaepernick threw almost nothing but outs and go routes?

I don't understand why we all generally accept that Dalton isn't better than Cam despite the better surrounding talent, yet don't apply that same logic to coaches. Harbaugh presents no schematic advantage as a coach, which is why usually once the 49ers fall behind they stay behind.

Rivera sucks and I've known he didn't have "it" since last year when we had an opportunity to beat the Lions, had a two TD lead on the road in the second half...had them down as many as 17 points...and we let them score 5 second half TDs to lose by 14. It was epic meltdown mode in a way that only a shitty coach could accomplish. Good coaches don't let that happen. Rivera has let it happen time and time again. He is terrible and IMO there is no way Gettlemen keeps him around after 2013 because I never see us going to the playoffs with him.

Well I had little hints his first year, but the way we came out in the beginning of this season like the Tampa game made me question the head man in charge

Good head coaches will have some type of control in all areas. Chud went retarded mode 1st half the season and Rivera didn't do anything about it. We had OTA's, training camp, pre-season and we came out with that garbage ass game-plan against Tampa? Smh

many a good coach has squandered talent. why reinvent the wheel if you just use common sense and win? back to back nfc championships for the scrub harbaugh and his simple schemes.

so many teams had gobs of talent and nothing to show for it. other teams have had a great blend of chemistry and role players and won.

So you think Rivera is just as good as Harbaugh?

No. But they're not far apart, Rivera has shown improvement, and done more with less on defense. But people act like Harbaugh is on the same level of a Belichick or Sean Payton, when he's more of a Jon Gruden, and that's not a good thing. People acting like Rivera is a lost cause or that we would be much better under Harbaugh are flat out ignorant.

depends on what we are measuring and quantifying?

but as we know, its wins and losses.

No, it's f*cking not. Bill Walsh, Bill Belichick, Jimmy Johnson, Tom Coughlin and many others were all saddled with poor records in their early careers. Just because a coach is part of winning team does not make them a good coach.

no kidding doofus. calm down man.

he asked about ron and jim and i asked how do you want to measure and said since we dont have anything to go by its wins and loses.

also, since you think jim is not a good coach, what schemes should he have run the last two years instead of the ones that have worked?
