Peyton and Fox lost that game

Baltimore should have won the game handily. The Broncos were lucky to even be in the conversation minus special teams gaffes.

Don't give a fug about Fox or Manning. It's a team sport, Denver, the team, had its opportunities to win. They blew it. Regarding going conservative, both teams did it. Baltimore got the pick, and that was the end of the story.

Denver defense cost them. Foxball/manning/whatever put plenty of points up and looked dominant in the second half.

Bingo... And that is the reason the dicision to 1) not let Peyton do his thing on that 3rd down and 2) not trying to win the game efter the Jones TD, lost Denver the game

Foxball lost that game.

yep. the mistake was in expecting the defense to protect the lead.

I'll keep on preaching this, you don't trust your defense to keep the other team from scoring, regardless of how good you think they are. the only way to truly protect a lead is to keep scoring and/or keep the ball in your offenses hands.

you give the other team the ball and you aren't daring the other team to score, you're inviting them to score and they are only too happy and usually quite able to take you up on that.

you set your team up to lose by giving the other team the opportunity to score.

I actually wanted the Broncos to win this game. I still think Fox is the best coach we ever had. Peyton blew this game in my opinion.

defensive scheme and playcalling directly coughed up 14 points which doesn't have anything to do with peyton manning. good god was it stupid as hell to leave bailey on an island like that, especially after he got incinerated for that first touchdown.

Then you are basically giving Nakamura a free pass

Come to think about it... It is Rivera's fault!!!

He's the one that brought Nakamura on the team in the first place

no I'm not. he screwed up because thats what he does. a smart coach would know that he and that defense was performing badly and would have avoided getting in that situation to begin with. if you know your defense isn't holding the other team back then you dont put them in a situation where the game depends on them. its that simple. they had a choice to keep the ball or give it to the other team and let them score.

and he did it again and again and again and it cost us wins.

For putting them in a situation where there is a minute left, the other team has to drive the length of the field to tie the game, and the other team has no timeouts. Most defenses would relish being in that situation in a divisional playoff game.

i don't care what defenses would relish.most offenses would relish getting on the field in any situation against a defense they had been abusing all day, esp. when they knew they would get a chance to throw to a guy getting covered by some midget/poor excuse for a DB like nakamura.

rivera gave them a present and a favor by giving them the ball.
