Here's a thread from the Raiders board about Hue and his potential hire in Carolina. Most seem to think he would do well here as an offensive coordinator and praise his football mind and intelligence. However, a recurring trend in their posts talks about keeping his 'ego' in check. I caught the drift from reading the thread that he likes to do things all his way and his mouth and headstrong ways can get him into trouble. However, with Rivera as head coach and Gettleman in place...I have a feeling he won't have much else to worry about other than running his offense and helping Cam develop.

I like him because he actually runs the ball and I think the fact he has some attitude is a good thing. Our team needs to majorly address the oline. Everyone's slobbing over the 49ers right now. It's amazing how good your QB looks when your oline is dominating the other team...not just holding up, knocking them off the ball. Cam and our RB's would kill it with that much push and time upfront.

Getting our pro bowl center back is going to be huge for us. Amini coming into his second year. Gross, despite everyone railing against him, is a solid vet and will restructure/retire a panther.

Our biggest need is at LG. If we can get a stud there.. we.... will... be....RUNNING

I'm just not a big fan of Bell's as a starter(liability in pass coverage). And Gross is getting older fast. I honestly think it would be smart to do that the Niners did a few years back and take a tackle and a guard 1 and 2, or 1 top pick and a free agent. It's not exciting and of course we need WR, DT, and secondary help. We've seen how hard it is to find a QB, we gotta protect him

Hue is my favorite for our OC spot at the moment. He made a Raiders team dangerous pretty quickly and he would still be coaching there probably if some Davis did huff paint and fire him. I hope we offer him a job fast and take him off the market.

Football is still won and lost in the trenches more than anywhere else though. I wouldn't mind us adding a guard and a tackle early in the draft if there is one available that isn't a reach for us to take. A really good OLine can make every other position on the offense, and by extension the coordinator, look much better than they actually are.

An ego is not good, contrary to another poster, because it usually takes a narrow, self-serving mind to have one. However, that could have been a perception because Hue was having to deal with the mess in Oakland.

The fact that he has not been mentioned could mean that he has a rep for that--or it could mean nothing.

Regardless, he seems like a good fit. Will the Jets be able to compete with us? I doubt it. If the ego rumors are valid, I do not expect Rex to appeal to Hue--he would exist better with RR. Even so, Carolina is a more stable position with a better chance to succeed. He knows that Cam can make him look like a genius, and that the coach in NY has a lame, weak QB on the roster.

Even if he looks to the draft, I do not see a QB worthy of starting in NY. THe line is getting old and porous. The franchise has been in turmoil for a few years, and Oakland was like that when Hue was there. The Jets job is not appealing in many ways.
