Why so many JR haters?

This team will be more successful after JR is no longer the owner/decision maker. I'd bet money on it.Tough division is NOT an excuse. I don't care about his intention when he fails, or if he calls fans, or makes money, or is from Charlotte, and is a good guy. I'm a fan not a co-worker or family member. Fans of JR are almost always people who have lived in NC their whole lives and think he is something special to NC. Nothing to do with winning and the Panthers. The supporters are in fact the ones speaking from feelings.

Shame, PSL owners played a huge role in bringing the team here, you'd think people of charlotte would have higher expectations for JR. Fact is JR is a buisnessman and a morally good guy. Success to him IS NOT what it is to fans, it is not a priority, for him. How can you say things like 'yea but we're better than the Raiders, Browns fans ask them!!' really? Being better than the worst, slightly, is ok? JR isn't the reason we have Cam, no way he goes that route without a cap in place, the cap brought us Cam and latley his decisions have flat out screwed customers and harmed the team more than anyone elses.

Now let's say 'but we have had more success than 2/3s the NFL!' in what time frame? let's not go back 10 years, how about the last 3? At one time, JR was making good decisions but clearly he has gone downhill. No one had a probelm with JR in the past as much because he wasn't destroying the franchise. You can sit here and remember the past specific, certain years you want to and love as a fan and create a soft spot for JR, or look at the past 5 years and say WTF. JR has slipped for five years, love the guy all you want but he is declining in his ability to make good decisions THE MOST RECENT 5 YEARS, not before the panthers existed, not the past 10 years with 5 on the other backend being our greatest seasons, I'm talking about what matters most RIGHT NOW. He is declining and some fans (mostly NC natives) jsut can't accept it. But yea, JR is a good guy.

So really what's the deal?

Because 90% of the folks on here are just smartasses. You have to filter through those to get to the rest. It can be time consuming, but once you learn who to tune out, you should be fine.

We started well with Polian. Letting him get away stalled us.

JR has gone back to his roots. He hired a football guy. We are on the right track again.

Bad Owner? bottum line of the food chain, this teams had more success in the last 10 years then 2/3 of the NFL, has he been perfect? nope but overal I'd rather have him.

Most of the JR haters only have feelings to back up their argument, if you want to look at it from a pure stat point of view we have been a top 1/3 of the league for a while now.

The above link shows 2002 - 2011, but as our record for 2002 and 2012 was the same, it doesn't really change anything.

You will see we had the 17th best record, and were below .500.

That's a far cry from the top 1/3.

include playoff success and eliminate all the teams above us with a worse record in the playoffs over the same time and you can eliminate 5 of the 15 teams ahead of us putting us in the top 10 when you include playoff success.

And then if you take our close losses by less than 7 points, divide them by the cube root of 54 and add them to our wins, we're actually the 3rd best team in league history, right?

C'mon man. We have a losing record over the last decade. There is no way for even the biggest homer to legitimately spin that into us being in the top third.
