If Norv chooses Cleveland over Carolina, as it sounds he has, it can only be for several reasons:

1) $

2) Maybe he's not as close with Rivera as we thought

3) And most likely in my opinion, he doesn't want to be dismissed with the rest of the staff next offseason

I don't understand this though. Norv is so highly thought of as an OC, that even if he was to be let go if Rivera gets canned after next season, he'd easily land on his feet somewhere else. Maybe he doesn't want to move around that often though.

Norv has a good rep as a OC, but bad as a HC. But at some point, his luster will start to wear off if he spends much more time as a part of organizations that aren't being successful.

In Carolina, he knows he would have one year with the offense to get us to the playoffs. If we don't make the post-season, the whole staff is likely gone. In contrast, he can go to Cleveland and an organization that will likely give him and Chud at least a couple of years to turn things around.

Wherever Norv ends up, likely Cleveland, he needs to be part of a winning organization or he will quickly fade into the woodwork.

I could understand if Chud was a proven NFL Head Coach and can evaluate talent.....but I just don't understand the Browns or any NFL franchise for that matter giving a UNPROVEN ROOKIE NFL Head Coach that much control.

I actually wouldn't be shocked if Chud is pretty successful, at least initially. That seems to be his forte, and Cleveland was quite improved this season. Weeden is also a much better fit for Chud than he was for Shurmur. This is a situation where everyone involved turns out better.

not sure why most huddlers think cam made chud and that chud is a idiot. just last year we were lucky to have him and his popularity was similar to first term obama. Now because he made a few mistakes early hes a dumb cord who should be lucky to have a job. this guy in my mind is one of the brightest minds in the nfl and easily the best offensive cord we have ever had.

Not sure that Norv is the best candidate for OC we can find. Rivera surely knows Norv's offense but he also had to prepare to play Jackson as well. He should have a pretty good handle on which is a better fit. Plus I like that Jackson has worked on the defensive side as well. Now when he prepares an offense he knows how defenses are preparing to beat it. Should make it easy for him to make adjustments.
