Warmack come on down

People are not interested in building a team around solid football players because they are not sexy picks. Its dumb, and its the reason you dont work in an NFL office. He's a great selection at 14, or any other spot outside of the top 10 in the 1st round. I think CAM is the most important asset on the team, and to protect him you get a line, to help him move the ball you get WR's. Then you get DT's and secondary players.

All aboard the Warmack Wagon! This would solidify the interior of our line for years to come. Amini-Kalil-Warmack would open up gaping holes for our running game and keep our number one asset in Cam Newton on his feet and healthy.

Not a flashy pick by any means but easily the safest, fills one of our biggest needs, and we get an impact day 1 starter out of the gates. How can you not love a guard that plays with his gut hanging out? Build from the trenches on outwards.

Round 1: Warmack

Round 2: Best DT available (Sharrif Floyd?)

I can't help but to think of pornos when people use the word "gaping" ......

The man is absolutely going top15 if not top10.

Every year is different. No top 15 teams last year needed OL help. That's why Decastro fell that far. This year is different. Arizona, Carolina (us), Tennessee, St. Louis, Cleveland, and Buffalo all needs OL help and could use a Warmack.

I hate to say it but big college programs play a huge role in who get drafted, and early or not. Scouts and experts loves these Bama players bc of Saban, the experience playing in a pro system, and the leadership attitude these guys have.

First, the notion that no team in the top fifteen (a list including all of the teams you listed except Tennessee) needed any offensive line help is ludicrous. Second, DeCastro didn't just fall out of the top fifteeen. He fell all the way to 24. All of the teams that you listed passed on the next great guard last season, and they did so because they don't value guard play as much as they value the chance to get a player at another position. They will do it again.

And DeCastro checks all of those boxes, by the way. Played in a pro-style offense under Jim Harbaugh, was a unanimous first-team All-American, a leader in the program. He didn't get picked as highly as he was graded because he plays guard.

Ummm... I don't know. This guy screams Jeff Otah to me. He looks out of shape by NFL standards. The guy needs to get rid of some of that gut that is hanging there. If not then he will end up been another Jeff Otah look a like.

It's not a comment on his skills.

It's a comment on his appearance.

I like my offensive linemen to be "aesthetically challenged".

I will just say this (and I believe I said it last year).

Chance Warmack is a much prospect than David DeCastro was.

How the hell did Alabama manage to get him AND Jones?

And to the earlier poster who noted to be scared when someone says he is a safe pick... while usually I agree with that when we're talking about players limited like Clausen and all who are considered "safe picks" without much other positives (because Clausen was never any good), Warmack is a safe pick. But he's one with immense potential as well. He's a monster.

I'm not mad about Warmack. I don't support the senseless notion of using a first round pick on the offensive line equivalent of a Fullback, especially one that isn't suited to the way this team should be built, and ESPECIALLY when there are talented viable prospects at crucial positions of need.

And its way too early to have picked a horse in this race.

Your comparing an OG to a fullback.....you're an idiot.
